Product liability nightmare.
Raw have either a nightmare on their hands or an opportunity to minimise a PR disaster.
There can't be that many strikers on the road to this design and to do anything other than recall all chassis for free remedial works seems like
a short sighted decision.

Does a single failure mean ALL the cars are faulty ?
An anti roll bar snapped on my Discovery recently........Warning to all Land Rover owners owners.... ????
Maybe some investigation to the cause before potentially ruining a business.

I see he doesnt mention where the failure is weld etc. How would the driver know that the suspension failed prior to the collision could the collision
have caused the failure of the mount.
there could be so many factors in the failing of the mount.
Life is like a bowl of fruit, funny how all the weird looking ones are left alone

I said that in light of the potentially serious nature / the amount of chassis built.
I think a broken roll bar on a Disco would perhaps be less likely to result in The Big One and that Land Rover can soak it up.
Raw Engineering have relatively more to lose and as stated, there is already a flyweight sportscar buried in the tyres.
If it were my business, I would want to know that all of my cars were pukka so that the business is absolutely not ruined.

Some ramblings.. and facts
I knew about this a good while ago. As I understand it the bolt pulled through the mounting. I dont have a clue if this is a design fault or an
issue with poor quality steel or what.
It wasn't clear then whether the failure was a one-off or not. In fairness to Raw it doesn't look like this is clear yet. The TR chassis
was effectively developed during the factory's attempt at the RGB crown a few years ago. Gary Goodyear has obviously run a similar chassis with
great success in kits and I'm not aware of a similar issue. I'm not sure if you'd be comparing apples with apples if you considered
Tim Gray's (now Mark Crawford's) Striker as an AB Performance-spec chassis is different, although I don't know how (certainly
designed to run 13" wheels wheras the standard TR uses 15".) Its also worth noting that Russ won the championship with this car.
I can totally understand why Russ is pi$$ed (particularly at the bill from Raw)but to say that it demands an immediate recall on this evidence is
rather jumping the gun. Other industries certainly wouldn't react like this on the basis of one complaint. On the other hand, kit-car chassis
failures are more common than we would all like. I can think of a few serious examples off the top of my head.
One to watch maybe.

Hi
The point though is that both Tim's and Garry's are not as standard. They are effectively works modded chassis. Not necessarily the same
as what you get if you buy direct from RAW. Well from what i have seen anyhow. But it was the MSA Scrutineer's who reported it to the MSA so
there would certainly have been some concern about the circumstances rather than looking at it as a one off.

Zil, I wasn't intending to play down the severity of he incident but to give an analogy that
one incident does not make a blanket problem.
