Fuel tank size

There seems to be 2 sizes of fuel tank available, 2 and 5 gallon.
I presume that for racing the smaller the tank, the lighter the car. However the smaller the tank, the lower the range. Therefore is a 2 gallon tank large enough for a race?

A two gallon tank is more than big enough - even allowing for the litre of petrol that has to still be in it after the race just in case they want to check for rocket fuel usage!

2002 regs:

"At the end of practice and race at least 3 liters of fuel...must be available..." ??
