Injection fuel pump
Still on the look out for a fuel pump capable of supplying at least 255lph @3bar for the duratec.
Bit reluctant to spend £100+ on and bosch 044 one to be honest.
Any one know of anything suitable?

you could always use a walbro? mucho cheaper than a bosch.

Hi David,
I have a Lucas 4FP fuel pump, I don't know what its output is but I believe it came of a Jag, Yours if you want it.

Thanks, but they only flow about 150lph, no where near enough to be safe

David, i'm sure i have one, i will check tomorrow and i think it's a Walbro/Sytec GSL392 should do the trick.

Lots of horse power = lots of money
Its just the way it is, plus a hundred pounds on a fuel pump versis an engine rebuild with new pistons because of a lack of fuel.
What about running 2 pumps in parallel? twice the output

Needs to be inline, forgot to say that. No provision for running HP from the back of the car sadly
The lots of money has already been spent, trust me. And then some.
But as always I am looking to try and save some money if I can. Not everything has to be new/RRP etc.

Agree with the above, you dont want to sacrifice £1000's worth of engine for the sake of a fuel pump or 2?

Try one from a 5.3l Jag XJS - cheap as anything, inline and they are supposed to flow bucketloads (that's the official metric measurement, by
the way).
Makes sense I suppose - they were thirsty engines!

From experiance i would say run one high flow pump, not two in parrallel. I ran 3 in parrallel, and a lift pump. current draw was mental, one pump
siezed due to debris, i think due to one pum blowing it into the other (just a guess).
If the fuse did not blow, fuel would have squirted out of the melted housing of the siezed pump(from the other pumps).

buy a new one you tight arse, why skimp on a few £££ when you have spend so much already, you'll only moan later if your 10 zillion bhp engine
starts to sound like a performance dti.

I have run a few v12 jag pumps, they will throw fuel across the garage by the bucket full, and run 5 bar....
I ran a v12 XJS for 9 months (20,000 miles) never managed better than 17mpg, typically 9mpg on short runs and put out 275bhp... no need to spend large
amounts of wedge.

Hi David,
Don't see why you should spend tons on a fuel pump. Okay, you may want a cut out if the pressure drops or summat but if you worried too much
about preserving the engine you'd not do your own sump and all the other 'Locost' methods you're using for this brilliant
build.
Using a normal high power car one seems fine to me. There must be plenty of OEM stuff that's fine for 350HP or so. Big Audis, BMW etc. etc.
Just make sure you keep posting the info and updating the website!

Standard Audi RS4 B5 pump is good for 420 BHP and is commonly replaced by the 044R 10 Bar unit.
Talk to www.mrctuning.com, ask for Doug and tell him Jeff sent you. Should be able to get one off him at a decent price.
