Locost/Magnificent 7's
Spent a couple of Sundays at Brands over the last few weeks (mainly taking photos to pilfer ideas for my car), after watching the Magnificent
7's I couldn't help but wonder if a well sorted, book Locost (solid axle) with the right engine could come near to competing against the
big money Caterhams etc?
What do you think?

Chris Gamlins R1 locost was well sorted and quick (not far off RGB quick).
But against a 250bhp+ sorted Caterhams with sequential boxes, I'd say no.
What's allowed in the Mag 7's, are only certain Caterhams allowed or is it open?

Something I looked at once for my 750MC Locost. The speed differential is massive, but if it's tracktime in a race environment you're
after, go for it. Teaches you to use your mirrors.

Hi
Just spotted this thread. It's perfectly possible to take the Caterhams on and be competitive. At the last Silverstone round we did with the LA
GOLD'S we came away with a 5th overall and 3rd in class. Hoping to be back out with the Mag 7ns again this year at some point with 2 maybe 3
cars. Bloody good fun and the entry fee's work out very reasonable for the track time.
Cheers Matt
