thanks mark, got your u2u's.

the category a,b,c,d is the class within the sprint series i am currently looking at, class a being standard production.

i have now found my old 2002 blue book but i don't quite understand what the section mean.

specifically i'm trying to understand what i'd need to do to comply with 5.2.2 from these regs:
http://www.twmc.org.uk/downloads/ACRegsA4.pdf

ie do a need a rollcage, fire extuinguisher etc, i know where there is a suitable omp cage going for only £140 though if i do need it i need to make sure it's of suitable design/type..

thanks for your help so far mark, most appreciated.

Ned.

Ok I see,

Local regs can vary from location to location but....

What car are you looking to run?

Standard production cars don't HAVE to have a cage as far as I know - I would just ask yourself how safe you would feel if it rolled at 70mph......

In my class which would be your cat B a hoop with backstays is compulsory ( I have a front stay in to the passenger footwell which seems to pass muster)

Fire extinguisers are not usually compulsory - I carry one but don't have the full automatic installation. Again if you would feel happier with one no one is going to object as long as it secured properly

HTH
