For anyone wanting to try this out, the server is online now, and will be for the rest of the night.

Rich, presuming you have LFS installed, start it, go to multiplayer, select choose game or named game(can't remember!) and put in the server
name "locostbuilders2" and the password= locost and click connect

Sorry guys, had to power off last night, the server is a bit on the loud side and is next door to my kids bedrooms
It'll be on again tonight though, for anyone looking for a demolition derby

I missed last night, had a gig I played and then I had an unplanned trip after midnight to the doctor's with my 1 year old son, he had
difficulties breathing... OK now, luckily...
But I am in tonight! What time does the race start?

what is needed to run the server?
i have a amd k6 550mhz with 448mb of ram it can connect to the internet aswell, only shares things like e-mails, music, desktop and my documents.
could this run as always on server possibly for the game because it already is always on for those other things
only objections i would have is if it used too much of my bandwidth because its only 2mb/sec and if it made the server become easily hackable

The server spec would probably be fine, up to a point anyway, it's the bandwidth that you would need to watch, and specifically upload
bandwidth, download will be fine.
You need ports 63392 (or choose your own high and below 65336) open on the firewall, both UDP and TCP, both ways
Give it a try and see.
