Cadwell locost pics

Had a good day at Cadwell yesterday, weather was suprisingly kind to us! Was there supporting my younger bro in the stockhatch.

A few locost pics.

I've more photos, happy to email out, if you supply me with car details etc.

No we have to run the set number plate at the bottom of the nose cone due to championship regs, I am the bright red locost in the bottom picture.

The number plates also work quite effectively as front spoilers, and hence help to reduce the enormous front lift of 7-alikes.

I did ask if we could modify the front wheelarches instead, since they make about 5-7x more of a difference to lift but also reduce drag. Apparently there would be an increased danger of stones being flicked up into our faces and so the answer was no. Hmmm.

The rules changed because some people were taking the mickey with them and some not using them at all. The championship sticker is just advertising for the series. I think yellow on white was a bad choice for the colour scheme though - it's almost invisible!

The engine's fixed and running again but unfortunately i'm not. That repair used up the money i would have spent racing this summer and time is a bit short at the moment too. The 'honeymoon' period at work is over and the notoriously long hours have kicked in. Bugger.

You'd think that racing would be the one hobby they'd actually encourage here, but instead it's viewed as negatively as anything else that takes attention away from the main task at hand. Wierd.

Things alright with you? Not been sent off to China again, have you?
