Non-750 MC racing?
Just a quick question:
Are there any non-750MC formalue where I could race the Locost and be relatively competitive? I'm keen to race against other types of cars with
different strengths and weaknesses.
Cheers

i haven't been to knockhill for a few years, but i'm sure i've seen a locost or 2 race in supersports and super saloons i think.
as for competitiveness, that depnds on your car really... seen a caterham (or westfield... can't remember) with a vauxhall red top right up at
the front, and another 7 type car right down at the back

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

What about a hill climb or sprint OR does it need to be more than 1 car on the track at a time

There are series such as the Welsh Sports and Saloons Championship and the Castle Combe Sports and GT Championship which would fit the bill. However,
with 80BHP you'd get absolutely murderated.
There is a Caterham and Striker in the field - honestly!
If you wanted to do an engine swap and run in Kits and something else that that is probably more feasible.

Ideally I'm looking for circuit racing as I love the actual racing element. I'd also like to keep my car standard for the Locost
championship, or at the very most minor (and cheap) changes.
I'll have a look into supersports and super saloons.

As said above, there are quite a few regional championships you would be eligible for - The Darlington MC Northern Sports Cars And Saloons
Championship is another one that a couple of Locosts have had a go in. Unfortunately being competitive is another matter entirely as, when the very
best Locost engines only make 90ish bhp at the flywheel, you're probably going to be 40-50bhp at least down on the rest of the field. Even if
you have the most outstandingly set up Locost that is a lot to give away!

As already mentioned darlington & district mc, combe gt's, welsh sportscars, semsec, msv allcomers, prob even fit into britsports or
britcars somewhere but don't expect to be at all competitive.

I'm not even very competitive in Locosts! Guess I'll stick to the 750MC then as I can't bring myself to make lots of changes to the
car.

One thing you could try is to enter one of the 750MC All Comers races when they have one at the same meeting as a Locost race just to gauge how
competitive you would be in a field of non Locost cars.

You could just compare your lap times with other 750mc times, that would give you the best indication as to how competetive you would be against them.
