Cadwell trackday yesterday With Videos
Andy D - 28/3/09 at 08:39 AM

Took Pete's Civic through to Cadwell yesterday. Weather stayed dry all day, bit blowy and cool at times, but no complaints.

The car went very well, my only problem being with the gear selection. 4th to 5th I found a bit troublesome. Will have to look at the linkage.. Noisy wheel bearings, we knew about, and possibly a tyre rubbing a wing. The car does stick to the track very well though.

There were a good few tin tops to play with, some well driven BMs, and an Integra. There should be some video footage up in the next couple of days

In the mean time, here's a few pics;

what is that last car?

The orange one? A heavily modified Westfield - I think its a sprint/hillclimb car.

Looks bloody awesome.

Paul, he was around the 1 min 47 secs mark. Looking at the video, he was braking a little early here and there, partly due to not having too much confidence in being sure of selecting the next gear on the down changes.. (Excuse No 29b from the race driver's book of excuses!)

I spoke to the lad briefly, not sure if he's found this place yet, but he said he does intend to race it later in the year. Had a lucky escape with that spin mind!

There are three vids being upladed as I write. Parts 1, 2, & 3 of all one session. Pete had a bit of a marathon last session.

You don't need to make excuses for him if he's lapping in 1 minute 47,thats a very good time,I can't see many drivers get a Civic round much quicker.
I was around 1.51 in the Clio,but that was 1st time out with the car,and always with a passenger,thats excuse 28a,and 27b of the race drivers handbook ,Ive a bit to go though to get down to 1;47,it realy needs a LSD,is that another race drivers excuse
