Strapping Luggage on?
coozer - 28/4/09 at 10:06 PM

Coming down to Stoneleigh, its a 200 mile run.

I need somewhere to attach the bungees on the boot cover.

Can anyone recommend any little loops to put round the edge??

Most people just use rucksacks attached to the rearstays of the roll bar...

Don't know whether that's suitable for you?

Ive got some cable clamp style loops bolted to my rear cover, helps to lash stuff down betwen rear cover and roll bar.

Steve I have fitted eye bolts through my boot cover, got them from screw fix, they also have all sorts of fittings if you look through their catalogue, you can have a look tomorrow night if you are going to the church mouse.

I feel a new book coming on - "How to build an estate car for £250 and pack it"

Hi Mate.

Get yourself down your local boat chandlers. Loads to choose from there.

I got some neat little stainless loops for about 80p each.

I fitted a load of p clips underneath the bolts that hold the boot lid down. Cost pennies.

I don't think anyone can beat Marcus for packing a 7!

When I went on the coast run from Newlands last September I decided to take my spare wheel and attached it using nylon straps. Depending on your roll bar it might work. I did:

1. strap round roll bar cross brace, through gap in buckle
2. over/through wheel (in your case, over luggage
3. under rear panel, looped round cross-tube under tank
4. back up over luggage and fixed to the buckle

I used 2 of these and it was fine. Depends on what you have got handy I s'pose Rescued attachment luggage.JPG
