If you aren't going to Stoneleigh how about meeting at Max cafe (RG7 5HR) on the A4 between Theale and Thatcham this Sunday at 0830hrs for a
drive out?
Cafe isn't open at that time but it's a good meeting point.
Route will be Newbury, Donnington then over the Downs (B4494) to Wantage, east on the A417 for a coffee stop at the Kingswell Hotel (OX11 0LZ) before
returning back to Theale or Reading via Streatley.
Anyone interested drop me a U2U with mob. no so we can keep you posted.
See you there? Cheers, Pewe
Peter, I have just been given the Blat pass from the family for Sunday morning, so see you there, subject to it not pissing down with rain.
cheers
craig
its a possibly from me for now, the car is all sorted now but i may be busy, not sure yet.
May be able to make it along.
Cheers
Ian
Sorry not this time, on nights and the car for some reasons idling at 2500rpm!!!.
Next time, Dan.
ive had a look where it is and will probably join you at the cafe through to the hotel, whats it like on the coming down the a4 from the north? any cameras etc that way i need to look out for?
Scutter, idling probably due to shaking the lap-top too much at Lydden.
Dan, I would think probably your best route would be to come through Wallingford, then Pangbourne picking up the A4 at Theale or do Henley, Wargrave
and A4 through Reading to Theale. Some cameras on both routes and 50's but not over-policed.
Anyone else going up to Stoneleigh from the South could drop in on the route and do some serious blasting across the Downs up to Wantage before
heading North to skirt Oxford - just a thought (thanks Bob).
See you all at Max's.
Cheers, Pewe
i was looking at a417 into streatley, a340 from pangbourne
Thanks to Pewe, Dan and Terry for joining the fun.
It was a good run out, with lovely weather apart from the rain at the beginning.
Terry, I hope you made it to Stoneleigh ok?
The small oil leak I think I traced it to the sump gasket, which had a tear in it, so spent yesterday fittting a chopped sump and baffle plate.
Hopefully that is it sorted now.
I managed to get a few clips on vid, but my bullet camera batteries died after we left the stop off on the downs.
All booked up for Bovington now, and I cannot wait.
cheers
Craig
Second that Craig. Totally different when there's a few of you. Think that drive from Donnington over the Downs to Wantage rates as one of the
best in the locality - final kink notwithstanding!
Roll on Bovingdon.
Cheers, Pewe.
