See you all there, I'm booked on
Steve
All,
I won't be taking the Indy (to close to being ready for IVA) but I'll try and get over to say hello.
If I do I will wear my NASH MK Indy hat (sad git) so you can recognise me. and I will print out your Actavars for finding you.
................Neil
I'll be there.... meet you there Nash and everyone else.
Sadly without the 7 as wife and baby are coming too
Happy to take anyone who fancies it out on a Passenger Laps, just come and say hello...I'll be by the Red Phoenix.
First dibbs on passenger ride then

I'll bring my hat
Had a great day after a rocky start (popped a hose on the way to the track and had to fill it up with Evian !) thus missing the first run. Then
leaving the handbrake on for the start of the 2nd run, surprising how quick you can go with the handbrake applied...until the smoke started to fill
the cabin, I thought it was on fire but everything calmed down and from there on in it was business as usual.
Thanks to Steve for the lend of a few tools and nice to meet Ben & Nash who came out for a run later in the afternoon. I'll have some videos
up on youtube shortly
Thanks again to Steve and Jeff for taking us out. Hope to see you again some time
Excellent day, great cars. Big Grins all round.
Guys, great to meet you today and thanks for the passenger rides.
Barry it was also nice to meet you just before you left for lunch with the boss.
I will return the favour next time out.
Regards .......... Neil
Great day, good to meet so many Locosters..
Picked up some new rubber, thanks to the drifters

Great day out here as well, new 3.14 diff working well, managed to get just over 10500 rpm so nudging 120 down the back straight.... trying without
success to catch a Busa westfield on slicks
Track days rock..
Sorry we didn't catch up today Mark. Ben and I saw your car late on but you weren't there.
Next time fella.
........Neil
All the video I have is on youtube now. Including passenger laps with Nash and being overtaken by a slick shod BEC Westfield.

I think Mark was in the same session (?)
[Edited on 27/9/09 by jeffw]
That was me moving by around the middle way of the last two vids (session 4), silver BEC 2 up I always did the first 2 laps slow, got a shift on, then
slowed down as getting hot.
The Busa is chasing me down in one, so I lost the airbrake (screen) and passenger later in the day so leveled the playing field as his car was
stripped right down so squeezed actually quite a bit more speed.... say 5mph on the straight.
Brilliant day for me.
Cheers Mark
Did you stop the car at one point on track....there was a seven parked in the gravel which brought an end to what would have been session 5 ?
Your slow laps explains why I went past you several times and then, all of a sudden, you found a whole heap of speed. Was very confused on the day as
I didn't know what engine you where running.
The Busa Westfield, your Turbo Blade and the Van Diemen where the only thinds all day which past me so I was pleased with the old boat anchor up
front. The gearbox has lost synchro in 2nd and is jumping out out of 3rd under heavy brakes but I had planned to refurb the box at BGH anyway ....I
have a set of 285 piper cams and verniers to go on which should bring the power up 20-25 BHP.
Hi Guys
Really nice to put faces to names yesterday and meet you all, had a short yet nice day. Thanks to the guys with the Global Light, who loaned me a
battery, I managed to get an un-expected sesssion in after my charging circuit failed. Look forward to the next time I can get there for a full day.
Regards
Barry

hey,
i was the other yellow one out with you guys too.
Sorry didn't get to comemeet and greet....my mates cars that were there with me had many issues we had to work on throughout the day
('77Celica, Xr2...and a golf o and the scooby had issues lol)
Was great fun though, not had a chance to watch all vids yet but i see me on one of them taking it easy.
Was very impressed by the bike powered ones, they do certainly shift.
Just shows i now need to get cracking with my new engine, the pinto will be coming out very soon.
just watched, i am the yellow one you are chasing in video seesion 4 vid 1.
Shame i had a passenger as i really did notice the diference, car is not set up to have someone with me and it shows. Was soo much fun though
Session 4 was actually the one I took Nash out in, who is similarly protected from the cold as I am
Power to weight suffered with both of us well
built men in the car. I think the yellow 7 appears in some other vids as well ?
bought a pic i liked off the guy walking round selling them. Was one of the morning sessions, got the awesome looking Jag lurking in the background,
lol.

Hello Jeff
I also took my Nephew and let him have a go, first time he had driven a RWD car so spun twice on the starting straight, session 2.
I then put him out with the instructor where he pooted around, instructor telling him to go faster which he thought meant slow down, youth of
today.
Still at least he listened to some of the instruction as it steadied him up, trouble was instead of trying to be fast and losing it he became very
slow attempting the right lines but traffic then mullered him and he became spooked by other cars.
Let him try once more after lunch and he sent us into the kitty litter stopping session 5... sorry! By that time I had enough of him scaring me as his
traffic awareness seemed pretty much zero so drove the last 3 sessions myself.
Cut some big holes in the bonnet today to get rid of the heat.... Your Phonix was one of the quicker ones without a doubt.
Regards Mark
Hi Mark
Don't worry about stopping the session, just pleased everything was OK.
That trackday is a bit of a brutal introduction to track driving, never been to a trackday before where you're allowed to overtake
everywhere...have to admit I went into race lunatic mode, if there is a gap we are through it. Your nephew was very brave to go back out at all...not
sure I would have done if I hadn't done any RWD or trackdriving before.
Phoenix was OK for a car engined heavyweight and it was only really the Busa westfield and your car that came past on merit....I have got piper cams
and verniers to go which will help a little with the power to weight (cutting down on the pies would help in that regard as well).
