Track Days
chrisg - 14/4/04 at 11:22 PM

Good Evening Punters,

The Locost Car Club are organising some track days, the first being in mid-May.

They will be at Elvington near York.

The track days are not limited to Locosts or even sevens so long as you've got the dosh you're in.

They will be half days in mid week, probably Wednesdays.

It's about £350 shared between 15-20 plus a charge for insurance, but we don't know how much that will be yet.

Let me know if you're interested.

Cheers

Chris

Don.

Bodicraft Bodger - 4/5/04 at 10:01 PM

Im struggling with finding someone who will quote for the insurance cover for a group third party policy. Ive tried about 5-6 different places with no luck. Any luck at your end? anyone else got any suggestions?

Mark Allanson - 4/5/04 at 10:24 PM

Chris,

Are they still racing at Rufforth? I used to go there as a kid, only a few hundred yards over our back fence

Bodicraft Bodger - 17/6/04 at 10:04 PM

Just a quick update on the track day arrangements. It looks like we've got some insurance sorted out at long last!!
I'm planning on booking a provisional date for Elvington for Tuesday afternoon July 13th.
We need about 20 cars at £50 per car to cover the cost of track hire and the insurance. This will allow for upto 2 drivers per car, £10 per additional driver thereafter.
If anyone is interested see me at Newark on Sunday at the AGM, or look for the blue cossie powered MK and speak to the driver (me) or the fat b*****d in the passenger seat! (no prizes for guessing who that might be).
Places will be issued on a first come first served basis, so get your wallets out gents! Please support this event as its been a nightmare to get it off the ground!
Cheers,
Tony S.

mk blade - 5/7/04 at 11:31 AM

Come on guys support this event.

I rang Tony today and he needs 8 more people to make the day pay for its self.

If he can not get any more people interested it will end up getting canceled which will be a dam shame.

Tony has done all the hard work in shorting out the event its a shame to let it all go to waste.

I know its on a weekday and this will put some people off, getting time off from work and all that. But where would u rather be at work or having some fun.

The deadline is very short, ghe needs to send the cheque off tomorow so he needs to know as soon as posible if anyone else is interested in going.

Its at elvington on the 13th of july in the afternoon and is only £50.

Why not give it a go.

loafersmate - 5/7/04 at 11:45 AM

Where is Elvington?? As far as I know it's 'somewhere' near York, a bit more specific would be helpful. If anyone can guarantee a dry day I'm in

Ben

andyps - 5/7/04 at 12:56 PM

I wanted to go but a work commitment means I cannot make it - a shame because at £50 it has to be a really good deal. Hope it goes ahead so there is another one I can get to.

mk blade - 5/7/04 at 01:01 PM

Yes elvington is just south of york, there are direction on bookatrack web site, i think.

Its just down the road from york drag way if u know where that is.

As to the weather we all hope its dry but a little rain makes things even more fun.

loafersmate - 5/7/04 at 01:10 PM

So long as there's not mud all over the track with the wet (eg Binbrook) and there's no lumps of reinforced concrete to hit! Will check with ball and chain tonight and sort money out tomorrer.

Ben
