Lincolnshire Builder Club
jossey - 14/4/10 at 09:43 AM

Im looking to setup a new site for meetings for Locost owners and builders in Lincolnshire.

Would anyone be interested in joining?

We can share donor cars and parts etc.

Please leave a message if this maybe of interest to anyone.

franky - 14/4/10 at 09:46 AM

sounds good to me.

Daddylonglegs - 14/4/10 at 09:54 AM

I originate from spudbasher territory, do I count?

nige - 14/4/10 at 09:55 AM

im in the area

balidey - 14/4/10 at 09:59 AM

Lincs is quite a tall county. I'm at the posh end (the south) and the Peterborough (cambs) meetings are much closer to me than the north of Lincs.
So I think region more than county is the defining factor for local meets.

Miks15 - 14/4/10 at 10:00 AM

Im up for that.

Just noticed your in leeds though so how does that work?

jossey - 14/4/10 at 10:11 AM

i have just moved from LEEDS to kirton lindsey.

I have taken my kit car this week and im getting on with it.

FOR THOSE WHO ORIGINATE FROM lincolnshire feel free to join. Ill be setting up a website with info about peoples builds and forsales simular to this site but more local. Then we can have a local club.

FOR THE POSH ones who live in the the south end of lincolnshire (firstly your not posh and secondly you can join too) if you dont bring gold plated KITS.

Thank you all for your responses.

I LOVE SPUDS!!!!!

Irony - 14/4/10 at 10:27 AM

I live in Lincoln itself. I'd be up for it. But alas my car is far from finished.

My car is miles from finished too.

i have engine, chassis, wheels, hubs some body parts and steering sorted. i have an engine too and diff.

so i have lots to do.

with us living miles from main cities would be good to see if we can trade knowledge and buy in bulk for panels etc.

franky - 14/4/10 at 11:04 AM

Mines not finished either, any way the posh part of Lincolnshire is anywhere within a 7.2mile radius of the city

Miks15 - 14/4/10 at 11:12 AM

thanks god im 25 miles away from the city then

o and im quite far from finished aswell

kipper - 14/4/10 at 11:19 AM

My mother was a Yellow belly but I was born in Hull, not too far away.
Could join you for meetings,
Denis.

Irony - 14/4/10 at 11:21 AM

Well thats inspiring, seems there are a few builders in the immediate area. It would be good to be able to swap info and perhaps the odd tool. I think we should definately do this. I can help with artwork, logos, stickers etc.

Is there a posh end of Lincoln? All I know is I can see that big church thing from my back bedroom window. hehe

Also it seems that we all work behind desks and check locostbuilders in work time. tutut

nige - 14/4/10 at 11:51 AM

as im north of lincoln in the industrial
part of the county can i still be in your gang

franky - 14/4/10 at 12:12 PM

With a monthly pub meet

jossey - 14/4/10 at 12:39 PM

pub idea sounds really good.

Its hard moving to a place you dont know anyone and not know if you have a kit builder on your door step.

I hope this will help builders around. fingers crossed. :O)

I work in leeds still so i can help get cheap steel n alli. i have found it tons cheaper than where it is made (scunny)

random

so any posh people or people not from lincs can join. ill get the domain found any suggestions?

offer of help is great so thanks guys

JC - 14/4/10 at 02:27 PM

I'm between Lincoln and Grantham, sounds like a good ides to me too!!!

franky - 14/4/10 at 02:39 PM

How about yellow belly builders

Benzine - 14/4/10 at 02:53 PM

I live 10 mins from Grantham just over the border ^_^ Lincoln city is about 50 minutes drive for me

Lincolnshire is funny, in some ways it's like the deep south in america. Lots of destruction derbys/banger racing, trucks, farmers etc

jossey - 14/4/10 at 03:45 PM

Yes ok maybe lincs has a wierd reputation but im here now to sort it all out.

by the time i have finished it will be the locost capital of the WORLD.....

oh ok maybe not. but i will make sure that its a good place to meet and discuss builds etc

im hoping that Locostbuilders will help us by adding links if we add links to the club site.

would love a place where lincs people can go to see if anyone local can help with certain tools or bits. i live near the cheapest scrappers ever and i have been getting bits sooo cheap but i would like to buy in bulk for alluminium and steel tubing.

IanBrace - 14/4/10 at 03:50 PM

Sounds like a good idea to me too... I'm just south of Lincoln... even though the mot is gonna be in the next couple of weeks, it'll never be finished!

Have they got any Rover V8 with Hotwire Fuel injection. Range Rover, Disco etc?

catman - 14/4/10 at 04:51 PM

ill second thr dovecote, they are car friendly as they already have an americana day once a month with all the V8's. im sure they would be happy to let a few 4 pot lightweights park up.

I'm in Witham St Hughs, i knew Ash was hear and i know of another tiger owner in Lincoln city but i havnt seen any others out and about, how many of you guys have completed kits?

Ed

Davey D - 14/4/10 at 05:30 PM

ASH3 - 14/4/10 at 09:29 PM

There is a few of us not to far away from each other lets get together at the green man in norton disney 1 sunday

franky - 14/4/10 at 09:35 PM

is that the place thats been rebuilt? I'd be happy anywhere, as long as people are welcome who are still building!

nige - 15/4/10 at 07:05 AM

ive been to meets where people with
cars seem to snub those without (builders) , very clicky , and not at all
welcoming
