Got car nicely tuned ready for newark on Friday however had a problem with air getting in carbs and it cutting out. Noticed a fuel leak where the
fuel line goes into the carbs. Can i bloody stop it! Given in after 2 hours pissing about with jubilee clips and reckon need a nice bit of new fuel
line. Anybody else had issues connecting fuel line to bike carbs?
Still coming up to Newark today however will be in the Passat so no fun
Don,t recommend using jubilee clips on small hoses, very difficult to get them to seal properly, you would be better using
these. You will find some at Newark
Another question: - i have been sliding the line over the metal pipe that goes up into the carbs then clamping in place with 2 jubilee clips. Is there anything else i should be doing to ensure no leaks occur especially near a hot engine? Is there a fuel resistant adhesive to bond the pipe etc and help the jubilee clips out!??
yeah sorry thats what i was using
the braided fuel line didnt help so will get a standard piece
Yea, ditch the braided hose and get hose that is a tight fit over the barb, shouldn't really be a problem
especially with fuel hose clips.
ye i noticed the original hose with the bike carbs do leak if not perfect. i have to cut mine down and use clips they seem ok for now but you know
what petrol does to them lines.
would be great to find a fuel line that doesnt only last a few months.
