they are just playing that card, its fairly rare for a british team to have two british drivers, you usually have foreign accents or poor english, which makes the 'mates' card seem less likely. No harm in spin!

Its called corporate sponsorship. Note the emphasis on using their phones. I was expecting them to say, 'lets take a photo with my 5Mpixel vodafone Vc90, available in all good phone stores.'

This is marketing for sure.

Note that even if the cars on the warehouse are real, the decorations are "fake". Back in the days, when a GP was in a country where tobacco publicity was not allowed, they would not replace the "Marlboro" with "MacLaren", they replaced it with just a bunch of black bars, like a bar code...

Like the ones behind jenson at 0:37??

I would expect most have been rebranded to allow use at shows and alike. Possibly even rebranded with their current sponsors.

Haha, cool video. Heard about this yesterday talking to the Mclaren guys at Goodwood.

Of course it's 'fake' in that they were taken to the secret location where the cars are... they didn't just 'find' it! The camera crew wern't there by chance either! But of course the interest in the Senna/Prost cars is real- they're into F1 cars just like us!

And from everything I've read/heard they do actually get on reasonably well together... at the moment!

I can assure you the warehouse is real. I'm good friends with the guy who runs the heritage department!

When tobacco advertising was first banned here they did change the advert! Remember the black/West style Mclaren cars? The West on the sidepod was rebranded with the driver's name.

And the old cars still have Marlboro written on them! I'll upload the MP4/6 photo from Goodwood (taken yesterday) later on if you like.

Cheers,
James
