Looking good here too - seems a shame not to, should be there around 10am.

Johneturbo - 22/8/10 at 08:04 AM

i'll be there for about 1030am ish

Humbug - 22/8/10 at 11:17 AM

I would have been there but I went to Homebase for a couple of things early, and heard a bit of a rattling sound from the passenger side. When I got home I looked underneath and found one of the trailing arms had broken!

Sorry to miss you - maybe next time

Simon

GeoffT - 22/8/10 at 01:13 PM

Didn't need any more breakdowns Simon - a pleasant morning was marred somewhat with problems with both Dan's (dead starter) and John's cars (dead battery).

Got Dan on his way with a push start, but John's battery was so defunct that the car would only run with the jump leads attached. Left him waiting for the RAC man to arrive, hope they both make it back ok. John's homeward journey looked like being on the back of the recovery truck though, unless RAC man had a m/cycle battery on board......

scutter - 22/8/10 at 01:48 PM

I is home safe, joined the M25 to find traffic jams Thankfully the started had enough movement on the trip until then to be able to throw it just the once i needed

ATB Dan.

Johneturbo - 22/8/10 at 04:17 PM

Well what a day this have been!

I was very lucky the RAC man (Andy) had built a Sylva Riot
We quickly confirmed the battery was no more! so he suggested trying the local halfords in guildford, they didn't have the right one so called the one in woking who had the very same bike battery yay
so fitted it and was all sorted only just got back home now thou!

still was good to catch up with you guys

scutter - 22/8/10 at 04:37 PM

Glad you made it back today fella

Dan.

Johneturbo - 22/8/10 at 05:04 PM

and you Dan, i nearly went the M25 route back, but thought best not to

was rather funny trying to jump start each car, and pressing the wrong pedal i don't know, eh Geoff

GeoffT - 22/8/10 at 05:04 PM

Didn't think you stood a chance of finding a battery today - well done to your man Andy, sounds like you got the right guy for your car....

Ah well, brake, throttle, I'm always mixing those two up.....
