NSSCC & SMRC Races at Croft
Andy D - 27/9/10 at 06:19 PM

Have had a good weekend at Croft, my son, Peter had two races in the Northern Sports & Saloons, and he allowed me to have my first two races in the Scottish Sports & Saloons in his Honda Civic 1.6.
We came away with a pair of class wins each. It's fair to say my class wins were somewhat easier than Pete's, my only competition being a Mk1 Fiesta. Would love to say it was a Duratec powered 200bhp beast, but no, it was a well tuned 1.3 A beautiful car, built for the Scottish Classic saloons.

There will be some vids about in the next few days, in the meantime, some pics.

What class are the two cars in the first pic, they look mental!!

I know the back car is an FTO what is the front red car?

Looked like a lot of fun and varied classes which always makes good viewing.

Get them Vids up!!

Andy D - 27/9/10 at 07:54 PM

First pic is the red Lotus Elan of Mark Campbell, with the blue Marcos Mantis of Colin Simpson behind.

Yes, I love the variety.. much better than watching one make stuff.

There's a couple of vids from the Renault Clio cup car in the same race as Pete. The Civic is directly ahead on the grid.

Clio vid

On board with Mr Vaulkhard

It's Sunday's race, I was behind him somewhere.

Have put a short clip from the end of Saturday's race on photobucket, HERE

PAUL FISHER - 28/9/10 at 11:10 AM

It looks a real handfull that escort, I would not mind a few laps round croft in that, looks fun

Andy D - 29/9/10 at 07:00 AM

I'm sorry the videos are not up yet, poor old Pete has been burning the midnight oil at work, I've hardly seen him since Sunday.

We borrowed a better on board camera on Sunday, I watched the footage last night, it's much better than our usual stuff, so worth waiting for. Has to be said though, compared with Pete's, my start and opening laps look like I'm on my way to Asda. I didn't want to damage the car, but perhaps I was a little over cautious.

At last some vids!

Race one, part one, up to the red flag

Part two, from the restart

Andy D - 2/10/10 at 08:32 AM

Here's the rest of the weekend's videos..

Pete, second NSSCC race, part one

Pete, second race part two

And my first ever race with the Scottish sports & saloons. May be better to play in fast forward My priority was to keep the car in one piece.

Part one

Part two

My second race with SMRC

Part one

Part two

The soundtrack appears to have slipped on the Sunday race vids, not sure why..

Enjoyed watching those Andy, lucky not to collect that Ginetta, its good to see all the different cars racing together, it makes a great race series

Andy D - 2/10/10 at 05:55 PM

I had several close encounters with the blue Ginetta, and had to avoid the red one too at one point.

Talking of mixed grids, I shared the grid with THIS

I think it's a dragster in disguise!

on picture 14 that is some roll bar centre support, looks like a lorry prop shaft.
better safe than sorry
