madteg - 17/7/12 at 09:15 PM

I am going as well looking forward to its a great track.

Jon Ison - 17/7/12 at 09:21 PM

I'm booked in also, just trying to save enough to cover the petrol, last time there I spent more on petrol than the trackday cost !

Tell me about it!!
We borrowed some last time didn't we??
Can I blag a passenger lap or 2 this time Jon??

Jon Ison - 17/7/12 at 09:31 PM

Remember it well, think you paid 2p per litre more than I did for it purchased same day price was going up that quick.

MR2 still running ok ? Went v well last time I saw it, sounded well too.

Let's just hope the promised northward movement of the jet stream materialises.

Nickp - 17/7/12 at 09:37 PM

Yes, went well last time out at Mallory. Although it did overheat and spat water out as we drove away, hopefully nothing serious as it's been fine ever since. Think it was switched straight off while hot coming off track and boiled water in block. Guess we'll find out at Blyton??
Did Blyton earlier in the year (May I think) and had mad hail storms So yes I'm hoping the weather improves!!

owelly - 17/7/12 at 09:46 PM

Well, I would come down with the Turd and give you all a severe thrashing but alas, I'll be Bongoing around Scotland, or some other draughty place. I may accidentally take a trailer and car in case I find nice roads and nice weather.
Enjoy Blyton guys.
(Nick, get plenty of practise for £999 2013) ;-)

Shall I pull the fuse out of the PAS and put a block of wood under the brake pedal??

BTW- Have a nice time in Scotlandshire Off haggis shooting mate?

owelly - 17/7/12 at 10:24 PM

Nah. I'll just leave some gravy in a trap and they'll come running....

big_l - 17/7/12 at 10:52 PM

FASTdan - 18/7/12 at 06:22 AM

Jon Ison - 20/7/12 at 08:17 PM

Maybe we should have a "locostbuilders" corner, a good get together n chin wag rather than spread out all over the place, allways handy to have a few people around should anyone need help ?

PAUL FISHER - 20/7/12 at 08:33 PM

Looks like its fully booked now, I am going to have a run over to watch, and a chat

Jon Ison - 20/7/12 at 08:38 PM

Sounds good to me Jon.
Maybe look to get closer to the paddock exit on the straight as it get real busy the closer you get to the hanger(as long as it stays dry).
We are leaving from jcn 30 by the way that morning should you fancy to run over with us?

Jon Ison - 20/7/12 at 08:48 PM

Even better on the way back mate

Alfa145 - 20/7/12 at 09:12 PM

Might have to try that Retford route this time as I've done A631 Bawtry the previous 2 times

Any Cameras to watch out for on that?

Theres loads on the Bawtry route

Thats why we avoid it to be honest.

Cant remember seeing any on the Retford road from memory but Plod may remind me that there is on the Monday via post if there is

Fancy meeting the rest of us at jcn 30 at around 7.45?

austin man - 20/7/12 at 09:32 PM

me and a few others may come along to watch weather permitting may see you there Paul

Jon Ison - 28/7/12 at 09:37 PM

See you all in morning, just finished loading up.

PAUL FISHER - 29/7/12 at 05:04 PM

Great afternoon at Blyton, good to catch up again with everyone again as always, some quick cars on track, a Orange Tiger was going well, another Seven with a RX7 NA engine sounded well, Jon's locost busa, not the prettiest cars on track but one of the quickest I think he was trying to set the record for how many laps you could do on a single trackday . But the award for the prettiest car on track had to go to Leon's ( big_I) MNR Busa, the best put together MNR ive seen, and shot a nice flame out of the exhaust on every down change
Also watched the grass tracking on the way out, the twin bike engined Fiat Cinquecento's etc went very well.
I did not take any photo's but I am sure Andy or someone will post some up.

big_l - 29/7/12 at 05:58 PM

Cheers Paul really enjoyed today really please with the day 200 miles inc loads of hammer on track 100%
Reliable just sat down to watch the f1 with a Stella happy days

Nice to meet all the fellow Locost builders that came to say hi !!

austin man - 29/7/12 at 07:29 PM

Just uploading pics to Photobucket nice flamethrowing MNR

Jon Ison - 29/7/12 at 07:40 PM

Yup, great day, arms n neck ache a little, 80 litres of fuel burnt so yes got a few laps in, your right Paul I should tidy the paintwork up a little but I like the sleeper look, takes a few by surprise when they see fugly car int mirrors........all the bits that matter work fine

Alfa145 - 29/7/12 at 07:49 PM

Cracking day, was expecting to get rained off at lunch but it never came. The new R888's made it more fun.

Hope I didn't hold to many people up with my little 1.6 Xflow

Although I did overtake the Escort Cosworth on one lap....he may have been on a cool down lap, or not, but it sounds good anyway

Just need to save some pennies up now to get more power

Nickp - 29/7/12 at 08:43 PM

Great day, our old MR2 went as well as it ever has I don't think it embarrassed itself anyway.
I probaly met a few of you, I do like a chin-wag
Big thanks to Jon in his 'Locoblade' for more passenger laps than I bargained for, he does like to bang those laps in Very impressive for a 'non-pretty', live-axled, out-dated engined, shed-built seven alike. Anybody building a track '7' and thinks they need this, that and the other to make it fast......have a ride with Jon first and then decide

laptoprob - 29/7/12 at 09:17 PM

Had a great day too.Starting to loose count now how many times i`ve been there and enjoyed so it must be good

Great to meet Jon even though it was towards the end of the day after have a few tussles with him(or tried too at least).Slicks for me next time then i may fair better

Very impressed with Leons flames too

1 or 2 nice pics of me in there Austin Man.
