hi all, i have finally got myself sorted for hillclimbs and sprints etc. up to now i have;
1;FIA helmet
2;FIA gloves and shoes
3;FIA race suit
4;ex RGB race fury (only done 3 races and as new condition)
5;tiltbed trailer
i have tried to book onto harewood tuition day but i am unable to do so as its not a road legal car! is there any venue where i could do this in the
fury? it has all lighting, full cage, electric reverse,A048 tyres etc so dont see a problem? cheers
I would have suggested Gurston Down, but you will need an MOT to run there, I take it this car has no such thing.
This is just one of many reasons why I for one suggested you buy a 'road legal' car as your introduction to speed events.
There maybe other venues that will let you run this car, I assume that you will be using the car as the competition car when you get your licence, so
for now take a car that has an MOT and see if you like it first, again its a cheap way of seeing if you are suited to speed events before spending
hard earned cash on a full blown track car.
Google is your friend.
ive booked into a novice track day at cadwell park on 22/04/13 to get a feel for the car. up to 7 x 20 minute sessions which i thought seemed good
value for £99 !
the car only has a 919 blade and road tyres sonothing special or expensive and ive applied for a non race national B license too.
thanks for the help mate!
Should have booked the open pit lane at cadwell for £114 I posted up!
The Westfield owners club used to hold a practise day at Harewood, not sure if they still do, or when it falls.
Gives you chance to get a feel for the place with no pressure........It amazed me how narrow the track feels when you are behind a wheel, compared to
how wide it looks from a deck chair on the hill.
tried to book the open pit lane but code didnt work. and as ive never done a track day i wanted to go on a novices day.
Have you got some pictures of the new car Dan.
Hi
I wouldn't worry about doing the tuition day in you competition car a normal Tin Top won't make a jot of difference as you're basically
learning the venue, the processes etc
To learn your car a nice quiet trackday is probably best as you'll want a bit of space I would have thought, cadwell's a very nice track
too.
To get used to your car and the venue's you would be better off at a members test day IMHO.
sound advice guys thanks,.
