Could be an interesting meet if you like a BIG engine.
Next steam up April 20/21st
Yup, I'd definitely be up for that, I've driven past this pumping station so many times and wondered if anything was still in there....
Sunday 21st sound good then ?
Since this will only be a couple of days after Ray "chippy's" funeral it seems very apt to remember him with a visit to a big
engine, which is what ray's car was all about.
Didn't know about Ray, have just seen the news on Rob's thread, mercifully quick I suppose, but still very sad.
Yes the 21st is looking good for me, I'm surprised there's not more interest in this - probably worth putting up another thread nearer the
time.
Was also thinking we could also take in Walton Bridge for the usual refreshments.
Who is up for it Sunday ?
I'm certainly still game for this, hopefully we can drum up a bit of interest, surely an ideal Locostbuilders venue......
Drove past yesterday and saw the billboard for it. Might drag my boys along to see some large scale engineering
Opens 10.30 admission £7 under 16's free OAP's £6
Pretty sure you can get a cuppa there.
Would like to do this. I bought a speedo right-angle drive from Chippy so perhaps a few molecules will ride along with me.
Pity it's not today, with the brilliant weather. What time do you plan to be there Bob ?
I'm aiming to be there around 11am, no doubt I'll bump into you guys somewhere inside....
Opens at 10.30 so between that and 11.00hrs fine with me, i may even pop into Gino's at Walton bridge first for light refreshments.
Well that was intersting, in fact a lot more interesting than i thought it would be.
That triple expansion engine is emense, i have never seen anything like it before and well worth the visit.
They are having a car show in september s i will pencil that one in.
Big thanks to GeoffT and Macbeast for making the effort, £1 for a coffee and 50p for a slice of home made cake so i'm happy
Yup, a fascinating working display of some 100 year old monster machinery.
Even a few interesting cars parked outside, though I thought the appearance of the 6 MX5's lowered the tone somewhat..
Definitely one to do again sometime, and as said £1.50 for a cuppa and a homemade sausage roll can't be bad.
Looking forward to the Ace Cafe gathering.
