colibriman - 9/11/04 at 10:18 AM

I agree Andy.....dreading the bad weather....I booked a couple of days ago..so its paid no matter how the weather goes...

cheers
Colin

athoirs - 9/11/04 at 11:31 AM

Not booked at the mo.. but will be up there all the same.. Ill look out for you

colibriman - 9/11/04 at 12:59 PM

look out for the blue and silver Indy holding everybody up....and thats if it's dry - 1st proper blast in it...gotta try learn to drive it !

zilspeed - 9/11/04 at 06:20 PM

Will visit - without car probably.
The SS-R lot are a decent bunch. There's a load of elises going as well.

P.S. If you see an Elise with the reg
N1 TUT , get out of his way. He's mental and he's got a fairly monster Honda engine in the back.
He also drives barefoot....

macspeedy - 9/11/04 at 07:59 PM

i have emailed the club but have received no response yet does membership let you see if there are any places left!!??

colibriman - 9/11/04 at 08:54 PM

It's done but not paid for.....about half of the bookings are not paid for though....assume you can pay on the day....

they are also doing a novice's track morning with instructors....saturday morning - its 55 quid though,

colibriman - 13/11/04 at 09:53 PM

It was a great day....I had a couple of problems though
lost a nyloc nut off my top ball joint - that nearly stopped my fun - despite us asking round we couldn't find one (odd thread on it - UNC?) so what next?? - off to Mango's house to nick one off his kit!! - what a star!

next thing was the car was down on power...it wasn't scaring me anymore and most cars were passing me...
that was eventually traced to the throttle cable having slipped - I was only getting half throttle

so..back on track thanks to team locost - just to do 2 laps then spin it coming out of the hairpin...missed the porsche that was near me though

so thanks fella's for all your help and good to meet you all.

mangogrooveworkshop - 13/11/04 at 10:24 PM

What a meet. We had a camera in car that mac killed on the first lap! We think the G forces were just to much for it. My neck is sore from the outing after the rumble strip trips.

Colin.. your cars a cracker. Good results on the shake down and glad to hear it was worth the wee excusion to MGW HQ to get the bits.
Thanks to Zilspeed , Phoenix, Athoirs, Seabass, Macspeedy senior, Colibriman and Macspeedy for making the last outing of the year a real blast. Enjoy the pix lads.
Someone suggested a BBQ next season...................Suggested dates please... The mango BBQ is waiting ..........

macspeedy - 13/11/04 at 10:32 PM

Neil

zilspeed - 14/11/04 at 07:39 PM

Go Here

For more pics of Knockhill yesterday - all track stuff - no padock shots.

There's a strong chance that if your car was on track, this guy has a pic.

zilspeed - 15/11/04 at 05:59 PM

Well it's got big bad mad mental wide rear wheels ( at the moment ) and a catalysed R1 motor and a '54' reg.
Does that narrow it down a bit

mangogrooveworkshop - 15/11/04 at 08:03 PM

and and go on tell us

zilspeed - 16/11/04 at 05:30 PM

Why Andy Athoirs of course

scotlad - 16/11/04 at 05:38 PM

R1 motor??? thought it was a Fazer engine that was in it?????

zilspeed - 16/11/04 at 11:10 PM

Aye - you're right.....

See me - whit a fa**y

[Edited on 16/11/04 by zilspeed]

scotlad - 17/11/04 at 12:52 AM

wondered for a mo if he'd sneaked a new engine in there when we weren't lookin!

mangogrooveworkshop - 19/11/04 at 06:08 PM

Ah he has turned it in to a hovercraft........I can confirm. He has no need for them round rubber things we call wheels. He says that spinng should now be a lot easier.
Thanks for the old engine mounts Andy.

Did the lift fan and skirt fit ok ! lol

[Edited on 19-11-04 by mangogrooveworkshop]

zilspeed - 19/11/04 at 07:04 PM

I remember, I remember !!!

He said it's a Thunderace engine which is like virtually the same as an R1 - sort of, probly.

I think.
