Southern 7's on Sunday the 7th
ned - 26/10/04 at 10:58 AM

So where are Southern 7's / WLM / Morroco crew meeting next month then?

Is it too cold for newlands, will it be box hill indoors or is there another venue in the offing?!

Answers here, not on a postcard please.

Ned.

Tongue twister: now go and say the title of this thread repeatedly and quickly

Box Hill sounds good for me

trueblue - 26/10/04 at 04:09 PM

Box Hill sounds ok.

Change in venue a nice idea ; especially if
its inside.

Pictures of the Morocco rally would be interesting- perhaps a book could be in the offing; would put the Locosts on the map. Trueblue

bob - 26/10/04 at 06:21 PM

box hill would be fine with me

midlifecrisis - 26/10/04 at 08:19 PM

At the risk of sounding naive . ,and being a soft , not very clever ,essex lad . Why is Box Hill 'inside' ? p.s. where IS Box Hill ? ROD

Jasper - 26/10/04 at 08:56 PM

It has an cafe with seating inside, Newlands doesn't

bob - 26/10/04 at 10:19 PM

If your coming up from the south its right hand lane and right at the r/bout,if heading south the entrance to the public car park id sign posted on the dual cariageway

ned - 27/10/04 at 09:44 AM

maybe just my machine, but bobs map showed the wrong location (slightly) if you zoom out one, you will see a roundabout on the dual carriageway, it's right there, as bobs directions suggest (just not the map )

Ned.

bob - 27/10/04 at 07:04 PM

Its multimap ned,i think other map sites may well show the roundabout which is a more recent addition.

if you are coming from the south it is actually a very dangerous piece of road IMO

remember it not right on the roundabout/turning

Especially when Ned's driving up it!

James

ned - 28/10/04 at 12:58 PM

to quote the film nottinghill:

'if anyone gets in our way, we have small nuclear devices'

and

'james bond never has to put up with this sort of shit.'

Man, I love those quotes. And yes, the junction si a bit nasty. sort of like a slip road across the approach to the roundabout..

Just an idea - may be too late to change:

The weather tomorrow is going to be as good as today - what do people think about moving this one back to Newlands? Box Hill will be PACKED with bikers tomorrow.....

Just a thought

Deckman001 - 30/10/04 at 12:16 PM

Jasper, are you talking about the 31st or the 7th ?????

Jason

Jasper - 30/10/04 at 01:23 PM

Ahhhhhh - I'm a week early aren't I

Just as well I posted this - cos I'd have gone up and been on my own!

Please ignore my previous post - just the ramblings of a man desperate to get away from a day of decorating ...........

Alez - 2/11/04 at 01:15 PM

Hey!! I've just had this crazy idea of taking a flight to spend a couple of days in Guildford.

If I succeed booking flights and hotel, it would really make my day meeting you guys there this Sunday.

Anyone can offer a lift from / to Guildford for either 1 or 2 people?? (Me + girlfriend) Alternatively, is there a reasonable way for getting there without a car?

Cheers,

Alex

ned - 2/11/04 at 01:45 PM

I might well be able to offer you a lift alex, drop me a u2u for details... I only live round the corner from 'that roundabout' so picking you up etc shouldn't be a prob.

Ned.

Alez - 2/11/04 at 03:14 PM

I'm unsure, I mean your face is yellow and those eyes.. maybe not the best idea

Fantastic, thanks Ned, I'll send U2U hopefully tomorrow when I know where we'll be staying, it would be great if you collect us, it's freezing early in the morning, I remember that well. Then when we return maybe we can have a look at your build?

Cheers,

Alex

bob - 2/11/04 at 07:11 PM

Is it definatly the hill ?

ned - 3/11/04 at 09:56 AM

yep, boxhill, 10am (ish)

Alex,

My build has not progressed much recently due to financial issues (and picking up a load of bits at exeter) besides, the car is stored about 25 miles from guilford!

cheers,

Ned.

Alez - 4/11/04 at 08:25 AM

I haven't been able to find a cheap flight for Fri or Sat, only Sun the 7th which is too late for the meeting, so I've decided to wait for a better occasion because I'm not traveling to the UK often at all and definitely I would like to see you guys one of these 1st Sundays of every month.

Ned, by the time I can book a damned flight I bet your build will be SVAd

Hicost, many thanks for offering, it would be really nice to get in the passenger seat of your missile, I'll remember your offer when I finally go there. As for your travel, at least I can see that I didn't get you in trouble, so I feel better. As you say, best thing is you tell me the story when we meet again (You don't owe me anything, you didn't cause any trouble!)

Cheers,

Alex

James - 5/11/04 at 05:54 PM

So, just to check- we are still meeting at Ryka's Cafe, Box Hill, 10am on Sunday.

I mean, not that I would think you might change the venue at the last minute to somewhere 40 miles away and not actually tell anyone or anything, don't get me wrong!

Cheers,
James

Deckman001 - 5/11/04 at 08:29 PM

Yep, were still meeting at Ryka's on Sunday will be there about 9.30 ish to squeeze the bikes out

Jason

James - 6/11/04 at 07:04 PM

Cheers,
James
