Try sending an email to the Locost Car club, they might be able to send you a list of people in this area. I have one, but i can't find it I'm sure i put it with the mag......
We are in Twyford and always ready for a blast, However have not taxed the car over the winter but will do from April.

......and one in Windsor. Car is off the road over the Easter weekend (to hopefully get megajolt up and running) but would be happy to meet up sometime.
Where to meet though????
somewhere in maidenhead / reading area is most central, for the lot of us, maybe.
anyone know a park, or somewhere like with a cafe or burger bar??
come to the castle and ill have one of my oiks make you some tea and scones
And a day, one Sunday morning????
Adam
The A4 between Reading & Maidenhead is quite a pleasant drive, there's a cafe at Knowl Hill (layby near David Hunt tool store), got a feeling it may not open on Sundays though. Anybody know? If not I'll check next time I'm passing.
I wont be available Saturday mornings (unless its during the hols) and some Saturday afternoons cos of school
Put a map up when you decide on a venue, you'll be suprised how many visitors you get
so, knowl hill cafe, one Sunday morning!
I'll check on Sunday that its open, and we can arrange when sometime next week....
Yup, I'm up for it! Suggest we keep thinking of alternative locations though, cos' I got a strong feeling this cafe may not be open on Sundays......
That sounds good.
I'm so close I could push the car to that cafe at Knowl Hill. It would be ideal, lots of off road parking, steaming cups of brew. The only
problem is --
It's closed on Sundays !!

B******s
Alan, its sounds like you're probably more familiar with the area than the rest, got any other suggestions around this neck of the woods?
Any more news on a decent meeting place??
Haven't given up on this, will look out for alternative venues. Any other suggestions for a venue would be welcome, there must be somewhere
suitable, surely.....!

How far are you from the tea rooms at runnymede ?
I know its not reading but might be an alternative for others.
Been looking; how about Boulters Lock?
its just past maidenhead, good m4, m40 access
drive through some villages, bourne end etc...
its part of the thames regeneration project, got the lock, an island, car park
and a hotel for tea n stuff....
Boulters lock
Good shout,i was stuck there for a week on a film shoot in the eighties,if i remember right there is also a huge car park by the river opposite the
pub/lock.
Runnymede's a nice spot, very local for me but as you mention it's not really central enough for others.
No problems with Boulters lock for me, again pretty local, Phelpsa at J14 is probably the furthest away, if his father is willing to drive there then
fine. We could possibly alternate this with a venue nearer his part of the world?
Well, he drives to Slough and back everyday, so i suppose he wouldn't mind
If i anyone could think of any nearer Reading it would be easier though.

OK, anyone wanna suggest a date for the inaugaral (sp?) meeting of the Berkshire Locost Builders (B.L.O.B....??) Kinda nice ring to it I
thought.......
After this weekend my car should be back on the road for the summer, I can then manage pretty much any Sunday AM, so I'll leave it to the rest to
fight over a date - (weather permitting) I'll be there.
How about 8th May? or is that too far away?? (four weeks)
I might even have a car to bring by then!!
That sounds good to me!
OK for me - only reservation is that it may clash with the WLM meet which *I think* usually happens around the first weekend of the month. Bob (the builder) was watching this thread, hopefully he'll reply and let us know the score with this.

Whatever the date or venue you come up with i'll do my best to come over for the visit
Good
Ok, shall we settle on Boulters lock for the 8th, with a view to changing for the next meet if Boulters is busy/too far?
BLOB is go!
Sounds a good call to me - I'll be there 9.30 - 10.00. As already suggested probably worth posting up a new message nearer the time with a map
(if anybody knows how to do that!)
Long live BLOB.
Ok, 9:30, got it.
