Came back yesterday after a few intense and full on days navigating for Hicost in the Reims - Monte Carlo Guild of Motor Endurance Rally.
We had a great time over the Alps tearing around hairpins - and here's a few pics for you.
For anybody thinking of doing something a little more adventurous than the odd track day or hillclimb, I can thorough recommend it. It's a real
test of car and driver (and navigator!) and a really enjoyable time with like minded people. And it's got to be the best value motorsport around
- £100 a day each including hotels!
This is a typical road:

Did Mike and Peter (Petrolhead) make it round OK? They were novices in a Caterham Roadsport (green I think).
Haven't seen them yet, but I owe them a couple of quid in sponsorship.
I really want to enter next year, so I'll be asking them lots of questions.
Mike
Not sure but I think all the Caterhams made it. With 40 cars on the event I didn't get to meet/speak to everybody as you spend nearly all your
time driving/eating and sleeping!
I would think very seriously about entering a BEC on this type of long distance event (if you are) as it really isn't the right kind of car,
it's hard enouhg in a CEC.

You don't think I'd enter in my car do you? I still might not be on the road by then!!!
I was thinking more along the lines of another MK, possibly with the Nissan Turbo as a donor.
Mike
P.S. Don't tell the wife, I'm supposed to be doing a Cobra for her next.
What a view!

And yes, it is Jeremy's wife with the electrical trouble...... she can really drive that Caterham though and was the only driver who could keep
up with Hicost (just!) .

Glad you enjoyed the rally, fantastic pics what was the final result and how did chris and JB get on ?
Final result we don't know yet, they only annouce the top two on the night. There was also quite a bit on controversy as they cancelled a whole
morning which woul have put us up a few places.....
Anyway, what we do know is we came second in class (behind Franci who came second overall and first in class) and won the team medal as well. So I was
well pleased!
Chris Shanahan came first in class and also team winner - JB was a runner up
Brilliant!
Glad you had a great time, and well done on the placings....
That navigator training was well worth it then!
Glad to hear about 'our' JB too, his absence was noted from your 'Miserable Old Buggers' group piccy!
Fozzie
JB was in the B team - on his own I'm afraid - down to his rather casual approach to timings I believe!
nice don't mince your words though jasper
Great video!
Kinda made me want to have a go!
Liked the 'production' with the music and everything too!
Cheers,
James
I enjoyed that nothing else on the telly
good video... nice bit of led zep and al stewart...but what was that shite in the middle... a classic i think not... a bit of floyd could be needed...good viewing none the less
fantastic video - i didn't mind any of the music ........
got me thinking that once i complete my car i should consider doing something similar!
Some of that over taking tho ..... brave!
And that's all the tame stuff - hopefully there will be a part two with a bit more Alps stages
Great video, prefer studio version of 'Stairway' as the guitar is a bit crap on that live version, was the middle music Robert
Miles'?.....
Looks good to do but dont know if ye olde CVH would take it!!
