i was just wondering if locostbuilders is having a stand this year it would be nice to see faces to names ,maybe a locostbuilders badge could be issued that you can add your user name?

JoelP - 2/1/06 at 04:14 PM

stands are expensive at stoneleigh, i dont think this site is comercial enough to benefit from one - what could they sell besides badges and merchandise?! People do always arrange to meet though, and rustys tee shirts should help people spot each other!

in my books, its not a stand if its an owners club thing! stands are, to me, stalls that sell things owners club bits are outside and distinctly unstandly

tee shirts, there was a massive thread on them

zxrlocost - 2/1/06 at 05:34 PM

ok mate thats what I thought so is there a club area for us all to park in??

ta chris

soggy - 2/1/06 at 05:52 PM

yes that was what i was refering to

bob - 2/1/06 at 06:00 PM

The owners club areas at the shows are free of charge, who the organisers are depends on what you exactly get for your efforts.

The three seperate organisers of Stoneleigh newark and harrogate are by far the more helpfull with club areas, that just leaves the organisers of stafford and donington i'll say no more.

I'd mail chrisw re anything happening at Stoneleigh

chrisg - 2/1/06 at 09:32 PM

The club have our usual stand at Stonleigh this year - it's a big anniversary.

10 years of the Locost.

Details in the April Newsletter.

Cheers

Chris

Brian

If the organisers put the markers in the wrong place again yes

elysee - 5/1/06 at 08:06 PM

So a club as big as this cant organise a club pitch of its own?

Brian

bob - 5/1/06 at 08:39 PM

Locost car club have had a pitch there for some years now,mk owners have been there for the last 3 years as well.

Not sure if locostbuilders are planning anything but you could always mail chrisw and ask.

chrisg - 6/1/06 at 03:35 PM

I suppose Chris could organise something just for Locostbuilders, but the problem with Stonleigh is that the good pitches are on a "dead mans shoes" Rota. Existing pitch holders are asked if they'd like the same pitch in the following year, and if you're new you finish up right out the back, ask Bob and Andy, the MK stand was MILES away!

It's taken us ten years to get anywhere the exhibition centre, and as Chris would have to use any stand to make money to justify it, being that far out wouldn't make financial sense.

Cheers

Chris

bob - 6/1/06 at 03:58 PM

I feel like we are serving a kind of penance being stuck out in the wilderness,as long as the MK owners understand we have little or no influence on the pitch locoation it looks like we will have to suffer until things change

I always camp with the locosters though, normally a good time is had by all.

chrisg - 6/1/06 at 04:48 PM

It's going to be a belter this year Bob, trust me

Cheers

Chris
