Dunno- just a sad git I guess!

Missed last 1 or 2 so haven't talked rubbish and eaten bad food in ages!

Cheers,

James

P.S. Anyway, gotta go now as I'm going for a 'power 4 hour' lunch break and I intend to get my pedals done!

ned - 24/7/03 at 10:04 AM

i'm on breakfast duty if you bring that rad along...

Ned.

Jasper - 24/7/03 at 11:14 AM

James - wot do you mean you haven't talked rubbish in ages -I was with you at Goodwood - remember

I hope to be there but can't promise anything, had a lot of 'car time' lately with track days, so may be pushing my luck.

Alright, I failed! I only managed a power 3.5 hour! Most disappointing!
Oh well, I'llmake up for it by having tomorrow off!

ned - 24/7/03 at 02:33 PM

yes, but more importantly than bragging about the length of your lunch break, did you manage to sort the pedals out?

Ned.

donut - 24/7/03 at 02:39 PM

Not really. Did manage to spend a lot of time sitting think about it though then cutting and welding bits of metal together! (usually cutting them apart again!).
Tonight's the night though.

I've decided not to worry about them not being too pretty and just get them to work instead- much easier!

James

ned - 24/7/03 at 04:06 PM

you could always grind them back and paint them when they're finished

Ned.

bob - 24/7/03 at 05:33 PM

Is that enough for you Bob?

James

Peteff - 25/7/03 at 02:50 PM

Sounds rivetting, do southerners like that sort of thing then. Sorry lads, it looks like a northern export you could have done without. Who have you booked to appear at the next meeting, Lilly Savage is not doing much lately.

yours, Pete

Has anyone who goes to Newlands got a piece of alloy plate suitable for making a carb to manifold adaptor?

needs to be 5.25" square X 5/8" thick.

Or has someone got a milling machine at home and can make me one to pattern?

theconrodkid - 30/7/03 at 07:29 PM

Newlands Corner is just outside Guildford surrey, its a well known haunt down here for car and bike meets.
It is though more of the classic bikes so its a better meeting place than Box Hill (IMO) where the summer brings nout but crutch rockets YAWN YAWN.

The view at Newlands is also 2nd to none.(IMO)

Box Hill has the benefit that if we were building BECs then there are plenty of donors around!
We'd just have to get a transit, park it on the bend and open doors. As they wipe out on the cunningly placed patch of diesel the bikes will slide right into the back of the van and off we go!

James

Jasper - 31/7/03 at 10:50 AM

I shall be there with the family - so James, could u bring the steering wheel, and ChrisW, I'll bring the fuel pipe.

You all missed the girlie cyclist (wearing the tight black swimming costume like number) with a bum a Toyo girl would be very proud of!

I'm gonna be at Newlands next week I think- just in case she's there!

Cheers,

James

theconrodkid - 4/8/03 at 03:07 PM

Surrey Dave - 4/8/03 at 04:40 PM

Jasper - Its 8.125 inches ( from the chassis to the outer edge of the brake drum, that is!)

Conrod- the catches came from Rally Design they where part number rd6001, they seem to still do them. also the bonnet bulge was £27 +vat from Caterham Cars.

Bob- thanks for the brake shoes

James - thanks for nicking Ned's ally bellhousing from right under my nose! , it's a dog eat dog world out there!!:-)

And finally all that talk of megapower ,super sticky tyres, weight savings cracks me up , I dont think I got over 40mph all the way home folllowing everyone's old granny!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-) see ya!!!!!

Did look nice there - well up for a meeting there next time. Might even bring the mrs!

James - thanks for nicking Ned's ally bellhousing from right under my nose...

What bell housing are you after Dave? I got a posh alloy one for a type 9 - might be too long for the 1.8 CVH tho would have to measure it. (Failing that I got a 2.9 V6 to go with it??)

Chris

Jasper - 4/8/03 at 05:39 PM

I was just glad to get there at all, seeing as it was a 'family day'. Had to leave once the wife's eyes started glaising over with too much talk of diffs and bell housings!

Cheers Merlin (and ChrisW) for my axle brackets, and James for the steering wheel loan.

theconrodkid - 4/8/03 at 05:55 PM

if people brought their other halvs they could talk about girlie things and leave us in peace to talk about mens things ie girlies, diffs n axles

Surrey Dave - 4/8/03 at 05:56 PM

Chris ,

i wasn't actually after anything ,we where having a discussion about weight saving and Ned started to offer me an alloy bellhousing, but suddenly with a wink and a nod it was gone!!:-), anyhow i'm far too lazy to remove the engine just for the fun of it...........

mind you your garage intrigues me it seems to be full of a lot of Ford spares!!!!!!!!

Dazza - 4/8/03 at 07:57 PM

Nice to see you all again, been a while for me. Now i have my house, and a reasonable sized garage, i shall be getting my kit, or a rolling version over the next few months, so anyone see a suitable rolling one at a Dazza price(thats next to nothing to the untrained of you) then let me know....

see you all sept hopefully.

Dazza
