Going down on the 8am Norfolk line ferry on Wednesday. Staying in Beausejour.

Never been to the GBW. Whats it like? Does it go on all day, much to see there? We usually go down to Indianapolis friday morning then do the pit walk in the afternoon. Could be time for a change though.

Good choice of crossing We're on the same sailing and have used it for some years now.
"We" being: myself (in a Caterham nowadays - see recent Leics meeting thread), skidaddle88 from this very forum, and another regular, now in a TVR Chimp instead of a ZX9 Phoenix

See you in the queue, if not the bar?

Cheers,
Ben

We are coming down on Thursday 8.50am Euro tunnel and camping at Houx Annexe.

Clio V6
Gti6
Audi A4

Will probably be watching the stupidity of houx annexe roundabout on Friday night.

Wed afternoon from Poole to St Malo. Staying overnight in Rennes and then down to Le Mans Thursday morning. Staying in Expo.
For those getting off the St Malo crossing on Thur morning how about meeting up at the service station on the E50 East of Rennes?

It was superb last year, we made the mistake of going mid afternoon and didn't have time to see it all, everything from an A35 to an Enzo, they had a row of red Ferraris wich must have been worth millions, no barriers or anything and they have beer.

I'm never going on the pit walk again, too many germans with BO

Cheers

Chris

TangoMan - 29/5/07 at 10:20 PM

I have always bustled the Germans with BO on the pitlane walkabout so have never done GBW.

It sounds like this year may be time for a change!!

wheezy - 30/5/07 at 07:53 AM

We are going to drive round the circuit stopping at Indianapolis for an hour or so and then head out to the GBW at St Sat for lunch and a few beers. I went there about 5 years ago and have always been meaning to go again.
I think the cars that are in the drivers parade are arriving at about 2:00.
Dave

skidude88 - 30/5/07 at 07:18 PM

Heading down this side Wednesday, overnight ferry to Saint malo on Thursday....

TangoMan - 30/5/07 at 08:21 PM

Sounds like meeting up at Indy corner would be a good idea and then drive out to St Sat together.

What are you thinking wheezy, meet around 10:00 or 11:00 and them drive off for some lunch and a few beers at GBW.

wheezy - 30/5/07 at 08:41 PM

Sounds almost like a plan.
I will try and not drink to much on Thur night so I should be up in time to be at indy for about 10:30 along with a mate in his Robin Hood.
Dave

greggors84 - 30/5/07 at 08:50 PM

Would be up for meeting at Indy at about 10.30. Not sure about GBW, see what the rest of the group fancy.

wheezy - 31/5/07 at 02:28 PM

Excellent.

Dave

TangoMan - 1/6/07 at 09:18 PM

Looks like there will only be a few of us them!!!

I'm surprised as I thought there would be more,. There were loads of sevens there last year.

wheezy - 2/6/07 at 05:00 PM

Im sure there will be a few others. I will put a new post up next Friday and see how many others are interested.
11 days till the ferry leaves
Dave

Going on the 6pm Speedferries on Wednesday, camping in Beausejour (well, luxuriating in a motor home actually!), returning on Monday afternoon. Not sure what we will do whilst there, other than watching a race which is on

TangoMan - 6/6/07 at 06:29 PM

andyps

I am booked on the 2.40 speedferries but may need to move back to 6pm.

Do you fancy a convoy of 2 down the A14.

What are you planning once you get the other side as it will be getting on 8pm (with the hour change) so the drive down would finish around midnight

Four blokes, one motor home. No other comment except that our beer will be cold

Sounds good - I will be in my tintop (Fiat Coupe) as the chassis is still not finished. Probably stop for a quick bite to eat on the way, but otherwise just aim to get on with the journey and at least maybe hear the cars at the end of practice which finishes at midnight.

Let me know if you change ferries and I will look out for you.
