Mark Allanson - 1/9/03 at 10:06 PM

Sounds good, but it is a little to far to go

Mark

suparuss - 2/9/03 at 05:33 AM

bit far for me to go too, plus would be hard to understand what folk are saying as it is, nevermind with alchy in the blood.

Hugh Paterson - 2/9/03 at 03:45 PM

I might be available for that beer, other commitments not tying me down, which venue?
Shug.

escary - 2/9/03 at 09:00 PM

usual venue is the camelon beefeater ( steela on draught ) however we as always open to alternatives.

standard time 19.30. but again as above looking forward to seeing you all.

Regards

Ewan

escary - 2/9/03 at 09:01 PM

stella on draught as well

MarkD - 2/9/03 at 10:51 PM

Ewan,

I'm supposed to be working the weekend of the 19th, but this may slip to the 26th.... I'll probably won't know for sure until around the 16th.

Hopefully I'll be there and maybe this time I can be one of the ones getting drunk!

I've texted Dunc, he should be able to make it either date.

Mark

ceebmoj - 3/9/03 at 07:40 AM

I could make it on the 26

Dunc - 3/9/03 at 12:08 PM

I should be able to make either meeting. Been having a few ideas in my head that needs further discussion with the Central Scotland lads, maybe you could give them some thought.

I've managed to purchase a few large items over the last few months, lathe, vertical band saw, power hacksaw, vertical drill, grinder, etc. No milling machine, yet. Also got a compressor, plasma cutter, chop saw, various air driven tools and spray guns lifting gear etc.

What I'm thinking is I've got nowhere to use these things yet and I'm trying to secure a unit, with or without 3 phase power, to be able to use this stuff. If I do secure somewhere maybe we can pool some of our stuff together and use, a sort of free resource machine shop for locosting, or temp storage for some parts to stop us tripping over them in the garage. I know some of us have these facilities at work but this can be difficult to use sometimes. Anyway, just thoughts rattling around my empty head at the moment.

Comments would be useful.

Hugh Paterson - 3/9/03 at 06:24 PM

Im up for that, I would not mind throwing a bit of dosh at shared workshop and pooling knowledge got a nice big steel plate for the jig
Shug.

MarkD - 5/9/03 at 09:15 PM

Ewan,

How's the chassis coming along? (Thought you may have called by now!)

Did get chance to speak to Ronnie about my garage door?

Mark

escary - 6/9/03 at 10:05 AM

Spoke to Ronnie and he may well have the parts by now

as for the chassis, didn't get started until wednesday but all that remains to make is LA, LB, LC & LD
together with the 3/4 bars at the rear (W1 & W2) and i'll have to get the 3/4 tube to form the panel edge at the rear

after that i need to decide on the gearbox type before i make the transmission tunnel.

would have done more but i stupidly burnt my face with the mig and gave friday a miss.

Gonna start on the cleaning of hubs et.c the week and will chase up the drive axle brackets.

Floors not a problem ( as you know ) but i may come over just to check a few things

Regards
Ewan

escary - 6/9/03 at 10:08 AM

looks like the 26th is gonna suit most people so should we set the date and go on from there?

Regards to all
Ewan

Big Stu - 8/9/03 at 10:31 PM

Once again, I am going to be stuck in the half way to holland for the next meeting. Never mind. Going to be around until the 16th if anyone fancies a pint give me a call on 01324 872846. The zetec conversion is nearly done just about got all the bits I need.

looking for engine hoist crane for a couple of days????

The shared workshop/lockup/tool share sound ace, willing to put time and money into it to make it work.

hopefully I will see you guys soon.

See you soon

Stu

Dunc - 9/9/03 at 10:06 AM

I've got the two engine hoists at the moment, 1 heavy and 1 very heavy but both fold. Mark D is kindly storing the very heavy one for me, the other is in a lock up in stirling. Let me know when you need it and we can arrange something.

Big Stu - 9/9/03 at 10:05 PM

Cheers Dunc and Ian, I have managed to borrow (only for a few days) a crane from a workshop in falkirk, but I will probably be in touch soon about getting a shot of yours as I have no doubt that it will have to come back out before I get it running.

Cheers again.

Stu

Hornet - 10/9/03 at 02:31 PM

Guys.. I'll try to make it on 26th, would like to meet u all.
BTW i have an engine stand and sliding hammer if any use?
PS lots of 18mm locknuts and 5/16unf bolts/nyloc nuts (Diff)

subk2002 - 13/9/03 at 10:54 AM

Hi guys im thinking of building an mk indyblade so might be iterested in meeting up let me know thanks.

Drew (near motherwell)

escary - 13/9/03 at 05:52 PM

you should come for beer motherwell in only 25mins from where we meet.

As for a blade one of the guys from my motorcycle club (633 squadron) has binned his blade, big time at knockhill and it may well be up for grabs, complete in post accident condition.

I'll chase it up for our next meet as Mark D is also interested.

Also getting quite a bit of help from a local fabricator ( Hyperweld, Denny) , these are good guys so there is a bit to update you all but will have to do so before too many Stellas coz after 5 i can hardly talk never mind talk sensibly or wall for that matter.

and believe me it's cheap for what it is.

So the more people to contribute to the group the better.

Plus a better excuse for longer pub time and of course ( more beer )

Regards
Ewan

escary - 13/9/03 at 05:54 PM

wall should read walk

cheers
Ewan

subk2002 - 14/9/03 at 06:25 PM

escary - 18/9/03 at 09:07 AM

Right guys its commitment time, I'll be there as will Ricky Kay.

Hornet if you still have the drive axle there are a few interested parties who I think will be attending the meet.

I'm still awaiting an update on the blade but should be further into it by next friday

See you all there

Regards
Ewan

MarkD - 19/9/03 at 11:51 AM

Ewan,

I'll try my best, but as mentioned previously, instead of working this weekend (19th) I have to work next weekend.

Hopefully I should be able to get to the pub, but I won't be able to have a drink (no change there!).

Mark

Hugh Paterson - 19/9/03 at 08:16 PM

Ewan, I have pencilled it in should be there unless I win the big one on the lottery, Steve from Coram is going to come with me if he can spare the time
Shug

dave1888 - 23/9/03 at 09:26 PM

Any chance of joining you's for a beer not started building yet but would like to see/hear what's going on in scotland

scutter - 24/9/03 at 09:04 AM

Should be there, pending any wars, but I'm not know for my reliablity.

Dan.

MarkD - 25/9/03 at 11:46 AM

Ewan,

I should hopefully be able to make it, but it will probably be after 9.

Sounds like quite a few new faces may be there - might be worthwhile putting something on the table so that people will recognise you. E.G. my axle brackets if they are ready ;o)

Would be interested to see any photos of your progress.

Will Ronnie be there? Did he manage to get the garage door bits for me?

Regards, Mark

Jumpy Guy - 25/9/03 at 11:52 AM

MarkD - 7/10/03 at 07:55 PM

SeaBass - 9/10/03 at 05:40 PM
