Yes, I fancy that one..

gingerprince - 19/9/08 at 12:12 PM

I noticed that Javelin are doing a loud (105dB) open pit day early november at Croft. Could be a rare opportunity for BECs? 160 quid for a gamble on the weather though when cadwell the same time is 20 quid less...

Thought there wasn't going to be a teesside this time because of trouble filling places?

You were booked on the Cadwell one on Monday just gone (15th) but I don't remember seeing you there? (Not that I've met you but I thought I would recognise the car from your avatar).

Did you have problems that day then?

My mate went home early as his XE engine let go on the 2nd lap out - doh! (Hence my XE engine wanted post).

oioi - 19/9/08 at 01:21 PM

which you can do if you push your car and don't start your engine

adithorp - 19/9/08 at 03:52 PM

I wasn't planning on doing anymore this year but now you've all set me off thinking about it!

Ne7ers is the day after I get back from holiday so thats out (and my car isn't a 7).

Oulton looks good though; Can I afford a day off only a week after I've had a weeks holiday?...

I never even went...too busy with work. Seems ridiculous now...I'll not end my days wishing I did more work will I?

Doesn't have to be a 7 Adrian! We've had Mojo's, a Jedi, Mini's and Elises join in the fun. Even a 7.5 tonne truck at one point!

That also sounds tempting!

More a case of being off work for the previous week thats stopping that one happening for me. I'll just have to give it a miss untill next time.

Andy D - 20/9/08 at 08:08 AM

Will be doing the ne7ers day, Nov 3rd, it's a pity it's a bit close to the Oulton trackday, Nov 7th. Could be a busy week!

Nice price, but it's the end of November! brrrrr!

Could do with something in October. There's a BAT day at Anglesey Friday 10th Oct with a hell of an attendees list. Caterhams galore! could be fun...

TimC - 22/9/08 at 10:15 AM

Hopefully I'll make at least one of these.

Time to buy that Kart Rain Suit and a set of Wets me thinks!

At RAF Valley last month I spent the entire lunch break contributing to global warming with the heater on full blast because I needed to dry myself out. The kart suit sounds like a real good plan!

I bought a motorbike one peice wet suit a while back. Was about £30, really does a good job. Just need a set of wets to complete the winter track driving kit.

bigfoot4616 - 22/9/08 at 07:07 PM

hope to do anglesey on the 10th october, will have to book soon though as its filling up.

also thinking about croft on the 6th nov. was meant to be there a couple of weeks ago but it was cancelled due to the flooding.

MK9R - 22/9/08 at 10:30 PM

Circuit days are doing anglesey coastal this friday (26th), i can get you in for £130 if you u2u me. The best thing is, when i phoned today they only have 16 cars booked in so it should be mega quiet on track!!

bigfoot4616 - 23/9/08 at 08:35 PM

shame works a bit busy this week.

booked now for anglesey on the 10th

Booked into Anglesey too. All those Caterhams etc etc and we'll be in my son's Honda racecar. Neither of us have driven it yet, but it's proved a capable weapon in it's previous owners hands..

Not expecting to be on the pace of well driven sevens etc, but it's reputed to go well in the wet.

Andy D - 30/9/08 at 01:26 PM

...and, anyone able to reccomend a local reasonably priced (cheap!) B&B ??

gingerprince - 30/9/08 at 01:28 PM

At Anglesey? A tent, and a bottle of single malt to keep you warm

hobbsy - 30/9/08 at 01:28 PM

Whats the spec on that beasty then? (you've probably posted it on another thread which I've missed as I'm good at doing that).

MK9R - 30/9/08 at 02:03 PM

travel lodge at bangor

Take a lot of malt to overcome an October night in a tent! brrrrrrr!

Its a 1600cc (Class D in the nsscc series) All steel bottom end, forged pistons, bullet proof bottom end. Not really into Honda tuning, but its putting out somewere in the region of 180bhp, at some astronomical bike like revs!
Big AP four pot brakes, Leda suspension, cage, extinguisher and all the racy bits required at scrutineering.
Bodywork a bit ropey, it's seen some action, but hopefully a fairly safe introduction to racing for my son and heir.

travel lodge at bangor

Cheers, will look in to that.

MK9R - 30/9/08 at 03:10 PM

Book the TL 7 days before and you should get it for £29. There is apparently a nice chinky in Bangor, my mates went there last thursday, can find out where it is if you want.

PAUL FISHER - 30/9/08 at 04:38 PM

Thats just the sort of thing I am looking for to keep me on track over the winter months, while I am building the next MK in the garage,a mate of mine has one very much like that one,we went to cadwell on tuesday with it,1600cc,revs to over 9500rpm,with 189bhp at the flywheel,we were lapping at 1minute 46seconds,I was well impressed,it was a lot of fun.Certainly changed my view on the little civics.

Forecast on Metcheck for next Friday, at the moment is wet wet wet.. Plan A is, if it is looking like it's going to pee down all day, we take the Civic. If it should by some miracle, look like drying up, Westy gets a run.

..and, there's still six spare places showing on BAT's website.

We have also booked the Civic into Javelin's day at Croft, Sunday Oct 19th, if there's still spaces and the weather looks dry nearer the time, I may also book in the Westy. (Pete may also book the Honda into the Javelin Croft event, Thursday 6th Nov. I can't make it, as I'm now out of holidays.. that's the noisy 105db open pitlane day. )

Plus of course, we're doing the ne7er's Teesside trackday, Monday Nov 3rd,

[Edited on 4/10/08 by Andy D]

bigfoot4616 - 4/10/08 at 09:56 PM

plenty of time for the forecast to change again, or am i being a bit hopefull.

Andy D - 11/10/08 at 08:17 AM

Had a funny old day at Anglesey yesterday, weather was definitely not kit car friendly! ......so we took the Civic, FWD and a roof was the solution!

Track stayed damp all day, there was a howling gale blowing in off the sea, but we had a whale of a time!

A few pics from the day:

Civic..

Civic passing Caterham, it managed to pass most!.....

Mr Bigfoot, good to meet you, thanks for taking matey out for a passenger ride..

..and big daddy Del in the Westy, getting some practice in for the two day sprint this weekend.

Will be some video footage about sometime in the next few days.

Andy D - 11/10/08 at 05:32 PM

..and, a bit of video HERE

Pete at the wheel, 8000rpm on a damp track, with brand new shiney Toyo 888s on the front, and well worn ones on the rear.

adithorp - 11/10/08 at 05:56 PM

Bigfoot, what did your engine problems that you had last time at Anglesey turn out to be?

adrian

bigfoot4616 - 11/10/08 at 07:26 PM

a blocked breather on the carbs, annoying something so simple can cost a lost track day. ran superb on friday.

had a great day despite the conditions which did mean a lot of sideways moments(and one spin).

carnt wait for the next one now
