I'd guess the contract with F1 says thats all they can do on the weeks they only have highlights.

jacko - 17/3/12 at 10:52 AM

Well they should have tried harder [ payed ] for it to stay on BBC that's what i pay my tv licence not Eastenders

lewis - 17/3/12 at 11:12 AM

Why the frig are the highlights of the race on so late on Sunday night?? 23:00-01:00 so if I want to watch it before going to work on Monday to stop others spoiling the result I have to stay up till the early hours, why don't they bin the bloody highlights of repeated top gear earlier in the evening to make way for it!! BBC really are trying to upset its loyal viewers and I'm not paying £27 extra to virgin to get umpteen extra sports channels I won't watch just to get the bloody F1! Rant over.

Well you don't want to know what he did on lap 27... Didn't think that was legal never mind showable!

Let me get this right... you (needlessly) started an F1 thread in a car enthusiasts forum and are surprised that some details have been spilled?

zilspeed - 17/3/12 at 02:12 PM

Lurk mode back on.

I did not start this thread?!?

scootz - 17/3/12 at 06:06 PM

Apologies - my mistake.

The sentiment still stands though. Common sense would suggest that if you want to avoid the result, then you stay away from car forums (particularly threads concerning the sport in question).

My recorder didn't record the quali any ideas where I can see it online?

I've found a couple of minutes on the BBC site, or have I missed something.

Oh did they abandon the race after getting it out as 150mph?

(I have no idea if these events happened! )

lewis - 17/3/12 at 08:38 PM

Lap 27? The race is not till early hours of Sunday morning.

bassett - 17/3/12 at 09:02 PM

I knew it was going to happen but i was disapointed the coverage was poor. I used to love watching some of the recorded red button practice sessions but thats gone too so i ordered sky sports yesterday afternoon. somehow on our sky package i ended up paying 2 quid less a month for 12months.

vanepico - 17/3/12 at 09:24 PM

to be honest I find F1 is more about precision engineering than excitement, it is how advanced your computer is not how good you are at racing. I've never sat down glued to the telly because its just nothing happens. Maybe sitting with your laptop, drinking tea, every minute checking up, looking up when the commentators raise there voice to say someone's crashed or something! Although I do gloat if a brit wins it :p. I'm looking forward to the BTCC season on itv :p

I have to say I'm paying for a tv license and there is absolutely nothing I'd want to watch except for the odd mock the week and top gear on dave, won't be buying one in the future. Considering they take ~£100 off every household in the uk every year, they don't 'alf make some crap tv! the other channels manage to do just as well just with adverts. Maybe if top gear didn't demolish a perfectly good car every episode we'd get some more stuff!

steve m - 17/3/12 at 10:47 PM

I finish nights at 0600, and will rush home to watch the F1 on SKY,
perhaps i will tweet on here the goings on
