I.ve just purchased a Lexus IS300 sport automatic. All is not lost, it's got flappy paddle shift

Whatever you do, don't put Lexus lights on the rear.....oooops.....too late

My Mrs has had an IS300LE from new, still done less than 30K and she can't find anything she would swap it for.

Really nice car, she absolutely loves it.

and she did the bit when Larkspeed were in Rotherham and asked for a set of Citroen Tail lights for it.......

In that case I must be getting there as well. Had an IS200 in at work this last week; A lot of car for the money.

Shame the 300 is only in auto but I could live with that. Only thing stopping me is it'd have to be an estate and the boots are tiny.

The paddle shift recoups only a very, very, very ,very small amount of street cred back.

Good motors only thing to watch for is change the oil at shorter intervals than the factory recommend and be 100% sure a top grade 5w/30 full synthetic is used if you don't do yourself.

I know one that is LPG converted with very good results but like many Asian cars it needed a valve lube system to prevent valve seat recession on LPG

Ive had a IS200 auto for 9 yrs cant fault the thing, dont know what id replace it with, oh and i am getting on a bit, not quite zimmer material yet tho
