Sorry. Try again. Sisters VW camper keeps failing. Always same problem yet numerous pros have not fixed. Runs fine for months but packs up on hols
causing great stress. Occurs when it's hot at idle then splutters and dies. Will restart only when fully cold again. Has had new fuel pump NRV
and filters, pump push rod, coil.
Broke down 3 times en route France but has just got home without missing a beat.

Have all the earths been checked?.......COmmon for an earth to fail when hot...Look closely around areas where exhaust can heat components and wires...Sorry, probably not much help....Is it an old Beetle engine camper?.
Old school stuff -------------Missing heat shield/insulator from under the carb.
Normally I would also say an ignition coil going open circuit when hot but as I see that has been changed so it leaves only a fuel vapour lock due to
the fuel boiling.
Should have said. It's a 1973 water cooled.
Everybody else has said vapour lock too. I'll check the carb insulator when I get back from France
A quick check revealed these early T3 Wassers were prone to vapour lock the measures applied that are reported to work are converting to an electric fuel pump near the tank and insulating the fuel lines where they might get hot.
I keep telling my brother in law to fit an electric pump!. Perhaps he'll listen now.

Correction.Its A plate so 83/84, definitely not a bay window. (T2/T3?)
Electric fuel pump sorted mine years ago. Ebay special facet cube alike. Used to start on the button after I fitted it, hot or cold.
Put a V8 in it....
