It Broke
perksy - 30/9/13 at 09:10 PM

These bits here decided to leave the side of the block on a mates 205 hillclimb car with a Pug MI16 engine fitted at about 7500 rpm.

Had a good look at the rest of it and its scrap value only i'm afraid

We think the rest of the Piston might be in the field somewhere

The one ARP rod bolts held up well though......

Well if you're going to break it you might as well do it properly

10 out of 10 for effort.

Nicely done!

Looks like rod bolts was the cause, was they standard bolts.

Was that Steve Baileys or Pinders? Both looked to be going well at Loton

The guy I service for in stage rallies has a collection of bits like that from his Mi16s, some mounted on bits of mahogany He just melted a hole in an expensive forged piston on the last event so that will be joining the collection I suspect.

At least you didn't throw the rod into someone's windscreen!

It was Steves, No worries as there was another engine in within days as he doesn't hang around with the spanners

Good job it wasn't his Cossie in the Escort though
