Be grateful for opinions on this one
Just bought myself a new Pinto Injection head. Planning a nice hot cam and a getting it Gas Flowed etc. Thought this would be easier than getting the
existing one done!
However when i spoke to Butons about the Cam they said the head needs the injector cut outs welding in and then re
facing on the inlet manifold side as they leak air into the system if this is not done??
I'm almost sure the one on it at the moment is an injection head, and I haven't had any issues, does anyone know of this. I have read
through Visard and Hamills books on Pinto tuning and can find no reference to this. They both say the Injection head is the best one to have.
Would like to be sure before I spend out on getting it sorted
How much power are you after? I get over 180 BHP from mine and I didn't get the injector cut outs welded up.
When the head is gas flowed the cut outs become smaller anyway.

Hi mark
I would be happy with 160 when it's done as I only have DCOE 40's at the mo.
How would they cause it to leak anyway I don't see what the problem is?
Cheers
It depends which inlet manifold you have. They don't all cover the top of the oval cutout on injection heads with the injection gasket.
As Pete says.
If the manifold you are using is currently on an injected head you will be ok using it.
If you loosen it off on your current injection head you will be able to see if it covers the cutouts adequately.

Thanks lads
Do you have any experience with the various cams on offer
I have spoken with Kent and Burton who recommended different versions
Kent said the FR33 or the RL31
Burton said the FR32
I have looked at the tuning books and they reckon the RL31 is good in Hamill's but then many people say don't exceed the 285 duration mark
which this does
Any suggestions
Cheers
