0-60 challenge at elvington

Anyone fancy this, next Sunday 9th May At Elvington near York. Might give it a go, just to see what time my car will do. Apparently there will be some serious machinery there, including a 1300hp road legal Aston martin.
Al.

New event at York, heads up no nonsense quick cars with the 0-60 Challenge. Pre-registration is advised, please email howardholmes@btinternet.com - A modified road car spectacular plus round 2 Cruise Missile Shootout.

I'd be up for it too if my car was done. Been to a day like that before at Bruntingthorpe with my XR2000 - was a great laugh!

Just got back from York Dragway, top day out! with some awesome cars, and really friendly and helpful folks. got about six runs in before torrential rain stopped play, have to say though achieving good 0-60 times is a black art, and i will never ever believe anyones claimed 0-60 time again unless i see the printout. my best time was 5.5secs, not so good you might think, i know thats what i thought, but when you realise TVR tuscans and 350's were only posting 5.8's you begin to realise all this 0-60 talk is mostly bullsh#t. Best time of the day was 3.2s this was a street legal vauxhall victor with a 1000hp blown Chevy V8, nitrous, and wheels like dustbins on the back, this thing does the quarter mile in 8secs normally, but like everyone today he couldn't find any grip.
Apparently the surface at York is pants, Santa Pod has a glue applied to the surface to aid traction. For the last run i let the ACB10's down to 8psi which definately helped, i was going to let them down some more, but then it rained.
I would like to have another go cos its FUN. I'm off to bale the car out now, 45min drive home in pouring rain was no fun.

Sounds like a seriously top day, Al.

So the posts on here and other sites by boy racers in cozzies doing 3's is untrue? Hard to believe......

Glue on the surface at Santa pod = exploding diff i would have thought!!
