PPC in the Park. May 21st.

It will soon be time for the Practical Performance Car Magazine annual show and track day at Mallory Park.
See here for details.
http://www.ppcmag.co.uk/ppc-in-the-park.html
Camping the night before, drinking beer and eating dodgy burnt but still raw in the middle BBQ food and doing all the stuff folks do when they have a stubby bottle of beer in their hand and it's getting too dark to see who you're actually squinting at.
Show day involves the usual open paddock to wander around and track sessions for most of the day. The track sessions are available for £20 for 15 minutes. You can book as many sessions as you want.
Theres loads of good things to see as listed in the above link.
The previous two PPCintParks have been great events (IMHO) and even if I didn't get free tickets, I would still be happy to travel the four hours it takes me to get there!
This year, there will be a stand in the paddock for the PPC £999 Challenge cars where you can see the sort of crap that we drag along and see if you could do any better. In fact, if you enter this years £999 Challenge, you can put your car on the £999 stand and let folks take the pi$$.
I'm also trying to secure a £999ers area in the camping field for all the Challengees to gather, mumble at each other and get drunk. And this is where the Locosters come in! I'm inviting fellow Locosters to join the £999ers in the camping field. I'm hoping we can herd the cars into a wagon circle to enable us to keep an eye on them so we can all get blootered and not worry about leaving the cars miles away.
I'll even buy everyone a beer. Not everyone ever, just LBers and £999ers!
See you all there. I'll be the fat bloke surounded by thirsty folks and empty beer crates.
Owelly.

The £999 Challenge will be at Santa Pod again this year but we're trying to get as many entrants to turn up at Mallory just for the hell of it! We may even get a parade lap if the cars are drivable!!

Hmm I can make it again this year now it's not around the bank holiday. Made it to the one in 2009 (I think!) was good.

Compared to a full on track day it's not fantastic value as a full day at Mallory is often only £100 anyway but if you just fancy a couple of sessions while checking out everything else then it's great. The time I went I ended up giving away my last two sessions as I had to be somewhere and they were running late So I also missed out on all the camping shenanigans!

The track time may not be the best value for money but the last time I booked at Mallory, it cost me £150 and I got a total of 45 mins of track time! I usually try to find quiet trackdays now with open pit lane! At least at PPCintPark if you break your car, you can sell/ give away your track time! Plus, the 15 minutes gives you enough time to learn the track without getting all giddy and crashing. Or is that just me that gets all excited?!

Just another quick shameless plug.....or a BTTT if you like!?

Er, come to Mallory. There's lots to see and do. See the linky at the start of this thread.
There'll be a few £999 Challenge cars there in whatever state they happen to be in. There should be a £999 area in the campsite which all Locosters are more than welcome to pitch up and throw dead things on the BBQ.
also:
Attractions include:
all day track action
club stands
Locosts
Double ended car
Drift cars
Dragsters firing up on track
Hot rods burnouts and on track
Trade stands
Dave Walker
Over 500 display cars
Camping
Autotest
PPC cars including the new project - jet engined VW Caddy

Be there, or be, er, not there. Somewhere else.
