brooklands run air/car show at dunsfold park

Info in local paper this morning, an air show at dunsfold park (old dunsfold aerodrome site, where top gear is filmed near cranleigh, 10 miles south of guildford, surrey) is being organised for Sat 4th June.

So far they have released info that red arrows, battle of britain lancaster, spitfire and hurricane will be there along with 60 vintage and modern aircraft doing a 'fly in' to open the day. The naiper railton racing car from brooklands museum will be in action as well as demonstrations of brooklands style racing cars, bikes. There is a rally being run from brooklands itself to dunsfold park via the south coast and there should also be displays of historic military vehicles and classic cars.

I recon it should be a good day out, the old dusnfold airshows used to be great and full of interesting displays. It also falls on my birthday and I recon it could make a good meet (1st weekend of month) for the WLM/southern sevens lot?!

there is a website: www.wingsandwheels.net but it hasn't got any info on it yet...

Ned.

Napier Railton,................blast from the past or what, i used to work at the Midland Motor Museum when i was a kid, bit of security and car polishing, that L...O...N...G beast was there for a fair while

along with some other exotics/classics too, shame it closed down though.

Has any one got any further thoughts on this old thread Events Diary i would love to attend the Air show but just thought to myself - oh June is a bit off yet im bound to forget about it. Most of us ore on here every day and a diary section would be extremely usefull, could include all local meets, shows of varying types, race meetings for RGB 750 series, hill climbs, production trials, WRC etc.

I think it would be a fantastic idea.

Diary seems a good idea - would need to be policed though so it was just that and didn't become 'another forum'

I'm working that saturday i'll have to see if i can get the day off,i went to a show there some years back as a guest of British Aerospace and it was a fantastic day.

Events diary would be good,i've got an almanac with loads of events jumbles and shows up and down the country. We could get someone on here who doesnt really have a real job (james) to search through it and sort some events out

BTTT

only a couple of weeks away now, so keep your diary's free

website has info on it now: http://www.wingsandwheels.net/index.html
though ticket prices seem a bit steep, but still worth it imho, when else are you likely to see the naipier railton etc running?
maybe those with kits on the road could see about getting in with them to display for nothing, might be worth a phonecall !!

20 quid for a brooklands event, they can poke it

I've been let down in the last couple of years by their half hearted attempts to put on shows at the museum i may be able to get a small discount being a member at brooklands museum but i think i'll go to work instead.
