Doune Hillclimb

Anyone going this weekend ?

It's a double header round over the saturday and the Sunday.
I've seen the entry list and there's loads of good stuff going.
Loads of sevens of all varieties - Lawrence hoy in the 1800k Caterham and the Coghills in their Westfield Megabusa - Colibriman's mate Gary in the 195bhp 1600cc Westfield. Another member of this list, Gizmo in his slick shod 2.5 litre Impreza turbo.
My Friend Jock in the Scabbiest looking Dutton in the world, but his speed is totally awesome.
Best of all though, in the single seaters will be Stewart Robb in the ex David Grace Pilbeam MP58 DFR - 600bhp.

Last but not least by any manner of means, Graeme Wight and Junior are down as entrants in the brand new self designed GWR Predator. This car is definitely a must see. I believe this may be the car's debut.
3.0 V10 and the driver is absolutely awesome.

Anyone going ?
I'll be there for a wee while today and all of Sunday

You're joking, right ?

Doune for a first event ?

Nah - don't think so, it's a tunnel. If/when you go off at Doune, you're taking the car home in a bucket. I took the advice on offer and the car is staying home this weekend.

There's also the fact that all the entries in A4 are all running Hyabusas.
I reckon I might be struggling a bit there.

Should be OK for the 23rd at Kames then May 1st at Forrestburn

I'm heading there shortly....after I drop of Drew's lovely (ahem..) mini....I've had the pleasure of it in my drive for a week..

I'll be staying there tonight.... bring a tent and camp over....It's not that cold...! drink will be flowing!

As I said to Zil last week...there no way I would even consider doing Doune in a seven....they have got to be nuts!

Wellllll...........

It rained

Gizmo's 2.4 Impreza was monstrous - the red one which was at Kames the other week.

Graeme Wight broke his transmission.

Jock's weekend went very badly, but I won't say publicly why. Except for saying he should mark his fuel cans a bit better

Spoke to some decent sorts over the day. Came home when the heavens opened though

Was pretty cold and got a bit miserable when the rain started....

A busa Westfield (Wallace Menzies) hit the barriers after the first corner...bent wishbones front and rear, cracked bodywork and damaged 2 (expensive) wheels

And a ROAD car got The FTD (fastest time of day)...............!

A Caterham....( hot XE I think)

He got a timed run before it rained.....

Get them tyres down to your nearest tyre retreading place. There's a place here in Cumbernauld called Bandag that will shave them for you - those tyres need shredded

Cheers for that, I think the result would have been a bit different if the weather hadn't intervened.

John, David doesn't have an entry for you for Saturday !!

FFS, you're right John !!

Hang on !

(Runs off, prints out entry, writes cheque including late entry fee, looks up David's address on streetmap and delivers it through the front door)

Is that ok ?

Note to self - get entry fees in on time in future to avoid late entry fees
