??Grampian FreeWheelers??
I'm trying to guage interest in setting up a free to join interesting vehicle club in the grampian area. The main idea would be to encourage
people with similar interests to meet up a couple of times over the summer and also to make up a little black book of skills and tools etc so that
people can find the help they need locally. I intend for it to be really informal eg. no comitee no constitution we'd just do things on an as
and when basis. I'd make up the little black book and post it out to members F.O.C and am willing to organise a couple of meets over the
summer. Maybe if there are enough numbers later in the year or next summer we could arrange a track day for the club at knockhill or
something...anyway just trying to guage how much interest there would be. So far there'd be myself (Tiger CAT), my dad x2 Ducati's, my
girlfriend and her series 3 landy a neighbour with a rally spec Nova, prob Iain with his Fiat X1/9 and a few others if I moan enough. As you can see
I hope its really low key no hassle just a good way to make contact with each other. Reply to this with opinions etc or u2u/e-mail me and let me know
what you think please....Cheers Oli.

Hello Oli
I'd be up for it, but, as I'm at the very early stages of my project then I can't bring along an interesting car - just a boring VW
Passat. My donor is stripped, still yet to order the MAC#1 kit, so I will be 1-2-3? years away from getting it on the road. However, I totaly agree
with the concept of having a pool of "special" tools and knowledge sharing in this area. Count me in.
Bye, Keith
Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

I'd give that a go too, if Blairgowrie could be considered Grampian. Don't know if this sounds interesting but:-
Toyota Celica (current style)
Merc 116 350SE
Porsche 924
Reliant Scimitar 5A
'58 Peerless GT
Mk lll Gilbern Invader (but I don't know where it is, someone lifted it!)
&, of course Locost (half built)
+ a few spare engines & axles.
Pretty big workshop, engine crane, compressor, MIG, engine stand, PROPER trolly jack, all the usual tools + pullers, torque wrenches of various types,
valve spring compressor, pillar drill, chop saw etc, etc.

Sounds like theres interest. I reckon a good way to go is for people to e-mail me their details eg. adress, cars and tools/skills and I'll
start putting something together....If you know anyone else who is proud of their vehicle or has something interesting (in fact would just be
interested) then pass my e-mail address on: o.j.webster@mac.com and get them to drop me a line. I'll give it a few weeks and try and organise
something. Might try to get something sorted on the web aswell just a simple database to keep work to a minimum. Anyway gotta go as VOSA phoned this
morning to tell me my SVA is on thurs morning! arrrghhh.....car's still flat packed! Cheers Oli.

I'm interested in it. Tool sharing is all well and good as long as they are returned in the same condition (Or replaced in the same quality)
I've already had this conversation with CaLvinX And he'd prolly agree that it has the potential to be a problem area.
As for skill base I'm a time served engineer turned commercial vehicle autosparky. If it's broken I'll try to sort it or get info
from someone else in the know. I have a very low opinion of garage workshops (no offence to anyone who does know there job) and my philosophy is
I'd rather sort it myself.
I've got a lot of mates/contacts who are into various forms of motorsport mant of who are of the same Ilk as me. We are not gynacologists but
we'll have a look at any problems if you want
Keep us updated on this good idea.

Its good to hear there's some interest anyway. I agree with the tool sharing that it has the potential to be a problem area. However, it will
rely on the good nature of the members to look after other ppls equipment. I would have thought that the better way of doing it is by paying for the
persons time and tools (in beer obviously) for them to help you out. Makes it a bit more social aswell. If people are interested can they forward
their details on to me at o.j.webster@mac.com I will look into setting up a website to list all the members and print off a little booklet type of
thing. Please also pass the e-mail address on to anyone you think would be interested.....also vehicles don't have to meet any criteria to be a
member (in fact join even if you don't have a car and are just interested) as an example we now have several sevens a couple of old landies , 2
ducati motorbikes (and counting) and various other things. Right must get back to the garage as SVA is now on thurs morning!!! aaarggghhh! Car is
still flatpacked (in my eyes!).....Cheers Oli.
