FAO: South Birmingham Meet Group

hi guys,

as discussed at the last meet its tradition that for the December Meet we arrange a Meet to include dinner. I post now for your idea's on where you would like to go? I believe last year was a carvery, so if you want to go for something different through your suggestions up here.

Chinese? Indian? Tappanyaki (Japanese)? Carvery? Italian? Random Pub where you can pick what you want?

let me know, will go with general concensus, i am hoping to arrange it for the 2nd week in December , possibly 11th or 12th. decision will be made at the end of November so you will have just under two weeks to book the evening off, gf's, wives & partners all welcome!

All the Best

Alex

I quite fancy an italian...

My vote would be for a posh pub! That way, they tend to cover all tastes, and there are plenty around....

What about the pub near the bottom of the A45 at warwicky type area? We've been to it before. Its by a lock / locks & seems quite nice.

Is that posh enough or do you want posher?

Personally i'd like roast turkey ..... but i'm sure others will be more sensible.

Not sure if i can make the dates you've mentioned - mum's in hospital on the 10th.

R u on about the Waterman between Warwick and Hatton?

Waterman Linky

or

The Saxon Mill Linky

Both Pubs are good for food, saxon mill is the more expensive out of the two but both are very good

I was referring to the Waterman - but the Saxon is good.

If you want to visit her, she'll be in Wrightington Hospital (Nr Wigan). Its approximately a 120 mile blat up the motorway from Coventry. Its probably a lot further via nicer roasds.

I can sort out parking for 5 or 6 cars - although two will need good hand brakes (unless you persuade my dad to park on the driveway enterence and then we can get 6 or 7 cars with two in a garage).

Sleeping will be mostly via camping unless you ask nicely and i let you sleep on a floor in the parents house.

So ...... Wigan or ?????

right then chaps its bokked, its at

The Waterman Country Pub, Birmingham Road, Hatton, Warwick CV35 7JJ

I've booked the table to sit down to eat at 8:15pm, so if we meet about 7.30 as normal then we will have time for a drink and perusal of the menu before we sit, and gives a bit of le-way for stragglers

at present i have 13 people, 2 of which are possibles at the moment

1) Mike R & partner (confirmed)
2) Mads & Rachel (confirmed)
3) Tim (tybrow) & partner (1 confirmed, 1 unconfirmed
4) Dave Ashurst (unconfirmed)
5) Claire (clairetoo,confirmed)
6) Pete (peteday,confirmed)
7) Dave & Sam (confirmed)
8) Shaun (prawnabie, confirmed)

& of course there is Myself, haha. i make that 13 in total so far, i have booked the table for 15 so there are still a couple of places available, if there is more interest im sure that i could ring them and try and squeeze some more in

all the best

Alex
