Booked into Anglesey too. All those Caterhams etc etc and we'll be in my son's Honda racecar. Neither of us have driven it yet, but it's proved a capable weapon in it's previous owners hands..

Not expecting to be on the pace of well driven sevens etc, but it's reputed to go well in the wet.

Its a 1600cc (Class D in the nsscc series) All steel bottom end, forged pistons, bullet proof bottom end. Not really into Honda tuning, but its putting out somewere in the region of 180bhp, at some astronomical bike like revs!
Big AP four pot brakes, Leda suspension, cage, extinguisher and all the racy bits required at scrutineering.
Bodywork a bit ropey, it's seen some action, but hopefully a fairly safe introduction to racing for my son and heir.

Cheers, will look in to that.

Thats just the sort of thing I am looking for to keep me on track over the winter months, while I am building the next MK in the garage,a mate of mine has one very much like that one,we went to cadwell on tuesday with it,1600cc,revs to over 9500rpm,with 189bhp at the flywheel,we were lapping at 1minute 46seconds,I was well impressed,it was a lot of fun.Certainly changed my view on the little civics.

Forecast on Metcheck for next Friday, at the moment is wet wet wet.. Plan A is, if it is looking like it's going to pee down all day, we take the Civic. If it should by some miracle, look like drying up, Westy gets a run.

..and, there's still six spare places showing on BAT's website.

We have also booked the Civic into Javelin's day at Croft, Sunday Oct 19th, if there's still spaces and the weather looks dry nearer the time, I may also book in the Westy. (Pete may also book the Honda into the Javelin Croft event, Thursday 6th Nov. I can't make it, as I'm now out of holidays.. that's the noisy 105db open pitlane day. )

Plus of course, we're doing the ne7er's Teesside trackday, Monday Nov 3rd,

Had a funny old day at Anglesey yesterday, weather was definitely not kit car friendly! ......so we took the Civic, FWD and a roof was the solution!

Track stayed damp all day, there was a howling gale blowing in off the sea, but we had a whale of a time!

A few pics from the day:

Civic..

Civic passing Caterham, it managed to pass most!.....

Mr Bigfoot, good to meet you, thanks for taking matey out for a passenger ride..

..and big daddy Del in the Westy, getting some practice in for the two day sprint this weekend.

Will be some video footage about sometime in the next few days.

..and, a bit of video HERE

Pete at the wheel, 8000rpm on a damp track, with brand new shiney Toyo 888s on the front, and well worn ones on the rear.

Bigfoot, what did your engine problems that you had last time at Anglesey turn out to be?

a blocked breather on the carbs, annoying something so simple can cost a lost track day. ran superb on friday.

had a great day despite the conditions which did mean a lot of sideways moments(and one spin).

carnt wait for the next one now
