GTS W7DE front suspension issue!!!!
Whilst working on the car again today (the joys of a week off work), I noticed the front suspension spring seemed to foul the upper wishbone slightly
on the back edge. I looked carefully at the setup and pictures from various people's archives on here, but can't see where I'm
going wrong!
Tried turning the wishbones round (so that the longer arm was at the rear), but still no luck. I'm guessing that the spring fouling the arm
would be an instant IVA failure?
Got me thinking, is it the size of the spring on the coilover unit that's the issue? ie. if I change to a smaller radius spring would it clear
ok? If this is the case, what do people recommend? Been a heavy month on the expenditures, so I'm trying to keep costs down, and really
don't want to spend £500 on a new suspension setup!!!!
Any help or light that can be thrown onto the situation is appreciated! The week's had it's ups and downs overall, and I'd rather
not finish on a low note.
Haven't got pictures to hand, but can post them up tomorrow if necessary for reference.

Pics would be useful, but thinner coils may do the job.
To check could you jack the car up, take out the spring and make a dummy spring (cardboard rolled to the correct size would do), fit it and check
through the range of movement?
Or just wait for someone with more know how than I

Lower arms appear to be universal (non-sided) from looking at them and measuring.
I'll post some photos up when I get home, show you my woes!

Check Flak Monkey's archive/web site. He's built a GTS.
Cheers,

Have you got 1.9 or 2.25 inch diameter shocks?

Personally, I'd be more worried about the fouling!

Thats interesting. I have just welded the suspension brackets in place following GTS plans for the W7DE. I haven't put any suspension in yet
as I have only just ordered it. However the space for the shocks just didn't look right to me. GTS specify 1.9" springs if yours are any
bigger that will now doubt explain it.
