Problems contacting WSCC Forum Members

I'm not a paid up member on WSCC as I don't have a Westfield.

However clearly its sometimes useful to be able to contact WSCC members re: group buys etc and I've always been able to do this in the past via the "Contact" button.

Recently however it seems they've disabled this facility for non paying members. I get a pop-up stating:

"You are not allowed to use this part of the board"

Is it just me or everyone?

Any paid up members on here who can get me someone's email address / send them a PM on my behalf?

You dont have to own a Westfield to be a member of the wscc. It's £25 to join. There's a wscc trackday at Mallory in August, £103 for members, £125 non members. The difference being very nearly your m/ship it one hit!

BTW, Dont mind passing on messages.

@a4gom - U2U sent - thanks.

@Andy D:

True but if I had to pay to use all the car related forums I'm on then I'd be shelling out a lot. Even if they did all offer some kind of member discounts I wouldn't be able to take advantage of all of them.

Also I had a bad experience with a WSCC trackday as a non-member. Priority was given to members which is fair enough but then our cheques were cashed so in the absence of any other communications from the organisers (even though we'd asked several times for an update) we assumed we were in as they wouldn't take our money otherwise...

WRONG!

Found out about 2 days before the track day that we weren't going to be taking part, had already booked time off work and cancelled other plans etc. Then had to wait ages for a cheque back.

So that experience hardly encourages me to give them more money just so I can email people a handful of times a year.

Fair enough.. I dont know at what point the trackday is open to non members, but two days before does seem a bit short notice.

Sometimes it's hard to get a hold of people on there, but once they do let you in, all's ok. You don't have to be a member.

Hmm well I always could contact members before (for the last few years) using the "Contact" button but it stopped working a few weeks ago.

So RK - are you registered but not a paying member and the contact button works?
