Not wanting to rain on your parade, but do you need to set up a domain and a seperate website? And presumably register it as a proper club

Can't you just use this very site for what you are wanting to do?
Perhaps Chris could offer you 'local' links such as
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/lincolnshire

so we could have sub-sites from this site? Otherwise you could be alienating yourself from this site. What you are setting up could be seen as a rival to this site and it may not go down too well. And I'm not saying that is the case, but it has happened before.

im all up for a lincolnshire builders part, but at the same time dont want to be having to check two sites, so if we can organise something on here aswell that would be great

site.

we would still use this forum for all none geographical stuff. the site would be hosted on my server and the domain is a few quid. its just the time to set it up.

it will have build diarys and info about meets then the forum will be still on here with links to here.

so will be good to have both.

i see your point about the time but i can throw something together in a few hours and have meets info and build diary etc up and running and then link the forum to a post on here or more than one post.

Thanks

Not so much the premise of what you propose... by all means - crack on!

Personally, I just think it's a bit cheeky to use this forum to hawk your own website (especially after only a handful of posts!).

I could be wrong - I frequently am... and am often a sensitive wee soul!

Years ago I would have said get a domain, but now I'm turning into an old man i'd prefer to stick to using this forum. An email about events would be good too as LCB and emails are the two things I check most.

cheeky....

ye i guess its a bit of a pain. i only decided when i noticed there are tons of people in lincolnshire doing builds. im not trying to take over locost builders site. this is a club im building so we know who is local. then this locostbuilders site will be the best resource as the forum.

im not even wanting to promote it here.

everyone puts info about there club (as this is the club section)

THATS WHAT I WANT TO DO!!!!

its a map of who is in lincs. build diarys if people want and then links to the Locostbuilders forum so talk.

cheers

David

mabye east midlands?

Beacuse im right on the border of lincolnshire/nottinghamshire/leicestershire aswell, ive met a few builders now a few from notts, and going to see benzine in leics tomorrow, so would be nice to include a few more and not just strict lincolnshire border.

Another vote for using this site. Then you get other people visiting your events, and swelling the numbers.

Move away, and you loose that.

Its how I know when the SG7 (Stevenage) club are meeting up, if they go north, I sometimes pop over and see them. Its all part of the game.

Dont move away, it detracts from the locostbuilders site, and it keeps this site alive and buzzing.

The Luego Owners Club use this site in exactly that way.

1. The point of a journey is not to arrive.
2. Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

I like the idea of a local 'nut' of locostbuilders - a map showing nearby members would be great and would allow people near each other to get in contact and meet up.
