airfield day
My old man wants to take the car to an airfield day pre-IVA. Does anyone know if theres any in the midlands in the first couple of weeks of May?
We intend on pootling round the course as a shake down more than anything. Is this a good idea before my carbs and geometry have been set up?

Ideally somewhere slightly smaller with an arranged trackday...rather than me just making a couple of ad-hoc blasts down the runway before I get
arrested!

Bovingdon Airfield hosts trackdays through organisers, but they are few and far between i think.
Alternatively, you could look at a test day at Bedford Aerodrome?
Kindest Regards,

Abingdon on 7th May with Motorsport Events. Really good day, but make sure the car is up to it, they won't like you 'pootling'
about, as the circuit is quite tight. I suppose it depends what your definition of pootling is It's just south of Oxford.

MSE (Abingdon organisers) have instructions on their website that your car needs to be road legal.
In reality I was there on the 9th April and there were several non legal vehicles. It was a great day out, but not for a gentle first run.

I emailed them and was told that as long as it isnt an out and out racer and is in a safe condition you'll be fine. Aiming to get out on the
16th July Abingdon day

I was there on that day too. Saw your car but didn't get a real chance to come over. Snapped throttle cable early on meant we were busy on track
once fixed. Are you off there again this year?
