Alloy pipe lip tool thingy?? what is it??
You know what I mean - the piers like tool that crimps a lip around the end of alloy pipe to help keep the hose on. Name please and cheap supplier?

Oyster tool from B&Q
You are looking for this:
 
NOT in the tools section, but in the plumbing fittings section, sometimes difficult to find, don't bother asking an assistant, they wont have a
clue what you are on about

this will give you better results plus is much cheapness, just take a little time to
make
something called oyster plier in B&Q is you really want to know.

Wall thickness is what matters, not tube diameter.
Tell them about the bent treacle edges!

yep, good point. It's about 1.5mm, so looks similar to the gauge of pipe in the video's.
Will give it a go.

Merlin motorsport put beads on to aluminium tube for £2.95 each, though I suspect you need to buy the tube from them as well.
page 54 of their 2010 catalogue.
IIRC CBS also offer the service.
