Goodwood next month, where to sit

Hello

In the past I have had the free tickets from the Times. however cannot get Friday off so will be paying now.

So... as it will be far more crowded I,m thinking of paying extra for a grandstand seat, but which one?

Any advise gratefully recieved.

Cheers Mark

I think the grandstand pass allows you to come and go as you please and use all grandstands?

Have they done the free tickets again this year - I really want to go but skint as saving for IVA and associated costs!!

2 years ago when i went on the saturday you could sit in any grandstand with a grandstand ticket, only sunday you had to sit in designated.

My advice would be 1. start line - get lots of noise and see the warm up start as well, also close to cars, also still momentarily for good pictures. easy to compare cars. Any famous drivers will also be out of cars and near to you.

2nd choice would be opposite the house towards the left, ie nearer the start as you get good view of track up the hill and the house is the iconic view, cars have good speed here and in view for a long time, central for everything and good cover from the weather, further from track than start though.

I have found the best place for us is, infront of goodwood house, there is a pedestrian crossing, as you look at the house sit to the right of that, job done. We get there a bit early with seats and chill out all day!

Big screen to watch all the stuff, loads of space and there is a bit of space infront of the house where people do dohnuts etc, good fun. also i know the layout is differant this year but that was where the supercars entered.

Me and mrs bob had grandstand seats opposite the paddock/pits a couple of times, great for pics as you get to see the cars leaving and the run plus the return.
