[video] Oulton Park 1/9/2010

Had a great day today at Oulton Park, until my clutch clevis snapped just before 4pm so ending my day - happy with that though since an 11th hour change of brake calipers I'm happy to have got track time at all!

Was quicker than I have been before by nearly 4 seconds based on video I've watched back (now on R888's after sh1t rubber before), but still need to be quicker. Anyhow, usual video below: -

nice video mate.

Oulton must be nice on a dry day - it always rains when I go!

Absolutely! The stickier rubber give so much more confidence, especially to keep it flat through the kinks where before I'd be "feathering". e.g. the right-hand kink after Shelloils before the first chicane, before would be featherered in 4th, now I'm flat through there and into 5th before the chicane. Flat until just after the left-hand kink into Druids now too, same the right-hander before Cascades. Still haven't got the nutsack to take Old Hall properly though My brain just keeps telling me to slow down or the back end's gonna go!

not sure what ratio it is - also not sure whether i'm in 5th through mechanical sympathy and could hold 4th, usually too busy to look at rev counter

thats where shift lights come in handy. i must admit i'm not very good at the mechanical sympathy bit
when i've uploaded it i'll post a link to one of my vids from oulton last week as a comparison

There are shift lights on my digidash, but it's not in my line of sight so kinda useless! Looking back at the video I recon I probably could hold 4th if Iwere to throw out mechanical sympathy - recon I'm shifting up just shy of 11krpm, and braking just shy of 100mph (gps calibrated) which I have seen on my other videos in 4th on straights. Still, the point is I'm now flat through there whereas on the Marangonis I wasn't
