Lydden Hill European Rally Cross Championship
Anyone else going to Lydden Hill Easter Weekend? I plan on going for the weekend with camping and will be there with some GT4DC buddies so far. This
is some of the best racing you will ever see. Monster 4WD rally cars going at it side by side on a mixture of tarmac and loose surface!

I cant make that weekend but would have loved to go, used to watch rally cross years ago when it was RS200's, 6R4's and the like. Best
racing to watch. Loved watching Will Gollop in his "Silkolene" 6R4. Now Im showing my age

Those were the days! I still dribble all over the RS200's and the 6R4's at rally day every year. Rally Cross makes touring cars look tame
by comparison! There will be some old group B cars with heavily tweaked engines in the paddock as well as the monster 4WD cars which you can wander
around and have a good look at too.
Shame you can't make it Andy, It'd be great to see a few locosters there. The more petrol heads the merrier and I'm sure we'll
all be pretty merry come the evening round the BBQ!

I have been going since it began, luckily I live 20 mins from Lydden. The early days of the WD & HO Wills trophy on ITV's World of Sport
with Murry Walker commentating, Roy Edwards, Roger Clark, Kieth Ripp etc. Then on to the golden years with Martin Schanka, John Welch, Rob Gibson,
Kenneth Hanson and of course local hero Will Gollop to name just a few. Nothing to this day will beat the sound of a Metro 6R4 and Ford RS200 side by
side. If you haven't been to Lyddden for a while you will notive a huge improvement now that Rally X Pat Doran has got the lease. See you there.
